Tex, I applaud you for your determination and efforts. Hopefully all goes well on your next outing with the restored bike.

This is the best store I've heard since the Squirrel Grip story.

If, by some bizarre twist, I ever get to do the casting for the Wild Hogs sequel, you're the first person I'm calling.

Hey NCB, I was thinking what Tex had really done in the end of all this was restore his 'parts' bike:tongue: LOL!

Hey Tex, keep'em both runnung, that way you have a 'track bike' and your street bike. I have to admit. I've wanted to ride your 700 on the track:biggrin:

OMG,that is absolutely some SERIOUSLY F*%#ED UP funny Shiznit right there! :pound::pound::pound:
Damn,my stomach still hurts from laughing so hard. Sorry Supertex, but I just couldn't help myself.
Seriously though,BIG props to you for your gritty determination to complete a ride that a lesser man would've just given up on. You Rock Dude!
At least your story has a happy ending. Congrats to you. BTW,I've been following your build and I like the photoshop paint scheme that you've chosen for your bike in your signature. I'd like to see you do that. That Superman logo looks cool on the fairing, and after surviving this ordeal you've definitely earned it!

Glad to hear your trip home was way less eventful.
The NorCal crew has a "One F'd up Ride" policy. From now on You are required to not have an F'd up ride and be able to stand quietly by and say to yourself, "Glad it ain't me."

Well ladies and gents,Here is another perspective of the same story; I left Toe's house at 8:30 cause nobody was ready.Toe was walkin around in his jammies,Cundalini was still slumbering and Tex still hadn't gotten his bike started to make the hour trip to Toe's.I felt like a dick after the fact, cause when i left Toe's i had told him that i was going to get gas and smokes...but i just kept on rollin'.I was very ready to go and figured i'd wait for them down the road.
I got about 250 miles from Sacramento and pulled off to lay in the shade and wait for the boys.I couldn't get Toe or Cundalini on the phone,so i tried Tex.....Got him,he was outta gas about 75 miles south of Sac.I asked him "are you fucking with me?" he said no.I started to laugh and asked him where our other riders were.He said that were ahead of him and had continued on.That's when i said"oh fuck Tex". I sat in the shade for a spell facing the direction i had come from,so i could catch the boys after they passed.Sure as shit, here comes a rwb followed by a red VFR hitting the off ramp where i was posted.
Toe pulls up and starts informing me of all of Tex's woes.Bike falling, outta gas,etc..I called Tex and told him i had met up with the others,he told me he was still in the same spot and to go on and he would catch up.I'll keep it short, the next 30 hours consisted of dozens of phone calls for tech support.I felt so fucking bad for him,but it was so unbelievable that i couldn't help but laugh my ass off.I seriously thought Toe was gonna pop a gasket(in his brain).Toe said on friday afternoon,"after all of this shit,if that boy continues traveling south,i'm gonna kick his ass!" But he made it.We laughed and got shitty.(well i was already there).I admire your tenacity, you silly redneck!

Sorry for not posting pics of the new bike yet. I tore into it too quickly for that. After I put the carbs back on I'll get some up.
