I am fed up with the 4.5k stumble. Is there anything that really cures it. I have read many threads and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. I have an 04 with Leo Vince exhaust. I am also beginning to notice the same thing at around 2k. What ya say. I will buy a pc3 if it really fix''s it. Thanks wilburj:crazy:

It's not perfect but we are all very happy with ours. Made a big change all over and the on-off throttle is quite improved.

The fuel injection systems on new bikes are set up to work with the stock air intake and stock exhaust. Changing the flow of air by adding an aftermarket filter or pipes results in the air/fuel ratio also being changed. Adding an aftermarket pipe allow more airflow and this can cause the engine to run lean. Adding a power commander allows you to modify the fuel flow from the ECU so you get the proper mixture. This will results in smoother all around performance just like rejetting a carb on a non fuel-injected bike.

    Regards,
    Rollin

As others said, a PCIII (preferably w/USB) and O2 sensor eliminators make a big diff. My '04 was pretty smooth for the most part, esp. after I was over the 10k mi. mark, but adding the PCIII really made it better. No surging, very smooth VTEC transition and it did help the off-idle throttle response a bit. It's def. worth the investment IMO.

And like CandyRed said, if ya got the dough go for the new PCV.

As for a stumble at 2k rpm, who on earth rides a VFR at that level on the tach?! I usually don't like running under 4k rpm, let alone 2k.

drewl, that's how you make your 4 stroke a 2 stroke.

Dump a quart of the 50 down your pipe and smoke'em up!

You can also just pour half the quart down the exhaust and drink the other half, that way if it still stumbles you wont care cause you'll have more pressing problems on your mind.

I'm not an insider or a guru, but I thought it was funny too.

But c'mon, wilbur - just having a little fun. You received several replies about using a PC3, with the 02 eliminators, plus a link as to where to get it to help deal with your issue. That's sound advice. I trust you didn't really follow the advice of putting Slick 50 down your tailpipe? You didn't, did you?

the slick 50 joke is funny, its used everywhere, just like the product was for near 40yrs.

The PC3 posts are sound opinions from PC owners, the only thing we can really tell you is to try it, if you dont like it, theres always ebay.

All you "insiders" ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Making light of a new comer. For all we know he could be a Slick 50 dealer and your making fun of his well renown product. t:tsk:sk tsk tsk when will this ever stop.

We were just screwing around. I guess it wasn't that important to you since it took you 8 MONTHS to read it.

Well glad the PC owners were more helpful than those of us who were just being light hearted.

Only problem is the PC owners forget to infom the OP that to program the Power Commander correctly you must first soak it in Slick 50 for at least one day before use!

Most of the time my 2004 runs good. It seems that from the first start in the morning no problems with surging. It is after I restart the bike while riding around that I have the surge problem. It was suggested to me that once the surging starts to pull over shut of the motor wait a few seconds, make sure the ignition is totally off, and then turn the key on and let the bike go thru the start up thing with the gas gauge doing it's show. Usually after I do this the surging goes away.
