I'd been for a bimble and was sat outside Starbucks having a coffee and worked it out.

All the cagers in their air bag and steel encrusted safety were driving out of the car park.

I was about to sit on 750cc of V4 with little more than a bit of polystyrene & fibreglass to protect me from certain death.

Thats why the authorities hate us as as why would any sane person want to ride a bike.

To paraphrase Mallory face of Everest - "because I can"

I think the authorities "hate" us because of the jackasses that ride wheelies down the interstates... slam into the back of cars while doing triple digits, have louder than needed exhaust.......... not sure what you saying though...

I don't think the authorities actually "hate" us, it's just that we tend to stick out from the innumerable cars out there. Like the adage says "The nail that sticks up will be hammered down". Being visible has it's downside. :ninja:

One bike means one car not sold.
    This is the only reason.

Tough to say for sure. if your talking about authorities as in the law enforcement, It seems most of the em have a higher than thou personalty from the get go, something in line with small dick syndrome as they need to proof there existence by being over the top, LOL Now being those folks are suppose to be human, aren't they? The ones I know personally in their private life and in their work life the ratio is like 1 out of 10 will be a decent human being that does their job. Yes they have a job to do, but they picked that line of work for some reason, hate to say it, those that take on that line of employment, to me it is the ego they can instill that comes along with the badge. Now mind ya there's a lot of good ones I know a couple, but the majority seems to take advantage of their position and play the hard hand, and one of the fall outs from that is an attitude that bikes are nothing but trouble, the sad part to that is, yes some deserved to get lashed on, I mean look at all the attention those that don't keep it down cause, we all get labeled as hell raisers, not to mention what the hard core cruiser type bring to the table. all in all most high authority figures come with a preconceive notion, which is so wrong.
I love it when they come up all high and mighty thinking I got this punk, then I take off thy helmet

The authorities hate us due to the reasons that everyone else has already stated.

However the cagers hate us for the reasons that Tris has stated. I don't know how many times I have passed someone mid summer and looked at the driver. I could see how disappointed they were that they were not enjoying the same freedom and pleasure that I enjoy every time I throw a leg over two wheels.

I don't hate you Jay. Even after you murdered Bambi, I still stood by you.

Funny thing is, the arguement is put forward , not only by Jay here, but others as well, that the squid who wheelies down the road gives us all a bad rap. Interesting. I wonder if the cop who gives someone attitude, gives all cops a bad rap?

There have to be several hundred thousand cops in North America. Each working a 40 hour week. Have no idea how many million man hours that equates to every year. ANd what do we hear of. In total, maybe a couple manhours of bad behavior by some cop, if in fact what we hear is an accurate account of what happened.

You know, there are probably a couple dozen cops who are active members of this site. It is no secret I used to be one of them. I can't explain why I would ever become a biker if I hated them so. Maybe they gave me a frontal labotomy at one of my medicals and didn't tell me about it.

BTW Jay. I just may or may not have a small dick.....but it is a spicey little bugger either way.

And time for you to get serious.....get yourself out and buy a new bike.

    This brings to conclusion....Randy's Rant

Crusty, yes, it's true that sheriff Joe, a lying bastard himself, employs a few lying bastards, deputy Johnson among them.

The long time older riders should know this- The movie with Marlon Brando called "The Wild One" and the biker rally:

"Dubbed the Hollister Riot, the media sensationalized the drinking, wild riding and general lawlessness that led to the arrests of some 50 individuals. In an attempt to soften the tabloid description of the event, the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) stated that "the trouble was caused by the one per cent deviant that tarnishes the public image of both motorcycles and motorcyclists." This statement was the genesis of the title "one-percenter" used to describe the "outlaw" or "one-percenter" clubs." Which had a photo of a drunken solder on a bike surround by lots of beer bottles (which was staged, the guy on the bike didn't even ride) spread fear far and wide though out America. ALL bikers were BAD! For those that don't know do a web search on them.

I don't know how many places I went in the 70's and 80's on a bike and wasn't aloud to enter, park or ride because of those images. Cop's were always on the lookout for bikers. Today it's a lot better because of people like judges, lawyers, doctors etc are riding. It's gotten a lot better with the general public also.

Cops are just like the general population. There's a certain percentage of assholes in every segment. The cops are no different IMHO. My first job in the computer industry was taking care of the local, state, and federal law enforcement computers in the field. The stories I could tell................
