So I went home and pulled the axle out and checked everything.

The spacers and Caliper bracket fit well but only if the caliper bracket is Perfectly straight.

I think the space there is from the caliper bracket being slid into the grove and then with the wheel and spacers everything kinda moves a bit.

Pics before pulling the Axle out this Afternoon:

How does the carrier look there ^^^^

Pic after I put everything back on:

Looks like I almost have enough space for that last chain adjuster.

    New tire

    The carrier looks ok now.

Something that I had happen just once with a fitment dealt with the tab that locates the the caliper bracket. I'd make sure the bracket fits on the tab with a little clearance. If it's at all snug that can cause some troubles. That tab can also get road grime on it too. I usually clean them off really well on my bikes during the install.

The tab on the swing arm?

    Define a little clearance.

The caliper bracket slides into the tab. You can still see the tab slightly with the caliper bracket on it. Like the Tab is too long.

    Yes

You just don't want it to be tight, the bracket should just slip over the tab.

Some have mentioned some casting and/or excessive draft (taper) on the end of this tab. A simple hit with a file to knock down the casting imperfection should do the trick.... assuming that's what is keeping the bracket from lining up properly.

Give me a call tomorrow with an update on what you find out.

What are you getting done to your forks?

I'm more of the sport-tourer/commuter with the urge to go fast and lean hard when the situation is right.

One of the reasons I wanted to get a VFR...if people weren't asking so much for 'em.

    No no...you are absolutely right.

I bought the VF500 as my beginner bike....my first bike. something I can learn, commute and have fun with.

I just happen to Sport-Tour with it also.

The road trip that I took her on to Cape Breton and back was the equivalent of riding from San Fransisco to New York, NY.

The only things I wished for were the ability to lean back and lower cruising RPM's on the Hwy/Freeway.

With the F2 Rear Wheel, 42 tooth sprocket (Down from a 44)....the F2 Shock, front Forks beef'd up...and a Spring Time valve Adjustment and Carb Overhaul/Synch I'm hoping that'll do a better job next time.

...and besides....anyone can Tour on a Cruiser or a BMW

The wheel is officially on!

But don't celebrate yet kids...I have a few things I think I should look at before riding this thing.

    1. The bottom "loop" of the chain is REALLY REALLY close to the tire. I have on a Perelli Sport Demon 150/70-17 on there. I'm pretty sure I got the tire straight....the swingarm caps are both lined up with the same notches on the chain adjusters.

    2. The Brake pads don't look like they will be pressing 100% onto the rotor. Looks like they sit slightly high.

    3. The rear Brake hose....it's just looped and I am unsure the best place to position it to prevent any rubbing.

    4. Chaingaurd....needed? Will it rub the tire?

    5. Best way to make sure everything is straight? (Chain, Tire etc etc)

really? How close is your chain to your tire?

    I don't think I can squeeze a finger in-between there.

    Is that safe?
