The back edge of my 05's seat has raised up a bit, yet I can't find any missing spacers or anything else amiss. Ideas?

Pics would be extremely helpful here. Maybe it isn't clicked in or just not slid in there perfectly?

Sorry for not posting pics but for some reason, the site's saying "Unable to move/copy pic". As far as I can tell, my pics are within specs for file and image size. Help?

I spotted the problem right away...its quite simple actually

the stickers are throwing it off...either the weight balance of the piece or the flexibility...dunno which...but the stickers are definatly the culprit...

I can't make out the pix. But there are three tabs on the cowl that correspond with the underside of the seat. There is one at the very rear that is such that the tab on the cowl has a notch that slips over a small stub in the underside of the seat. If the tab is riding on top of that stub, rather than seated properly over this stub, then this could cause your problem. Has the seat ever been re-covered?

The cowl looks like it isn't on the seat all of the way. Take the seat off and verify the tabs on the seat correctly.

Is the cowl touching the bracket for the top case/trunk? That could cause it to sit up. It looks mighty close in the pics.

All the tabs are seated properly, it was the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th thing I checked. SwiftTech, the cowl is touching the top rack on both sides and I think you're right. The top rack seating can't be altered so any ideas to get some separation?

Its all those silly assed stickers you have on the cowl JK

I had a problem with my side tabs not holding tight. The tabs appeared to not be angled enough towards the inside of the cowl. I very gently heated the plastic with a heat gun....and I reiterate gently heated them, Then bent the tabs more inward to make the cowl sttach tighter to the seat. This fixed my problem. COuld this be your issue?

It looks like it is hitting the brackets for the side bags, loosen the bolts for the brackets and pull them out a bit and retighten the bolts.

If the top rack bracket position cannot be modified the only other option I see would be to slightly clearance the cowl where it is touching. If you shave just enough off the get it to seat down properly, you can use some silver touchup paint to paint the areas that were removed. Keep in mind though that I would do that as a last resort. Try moving the bracket outward slightly first. Loosen one side at a time and pull outward on it, then tighten it up, repeat on the other side and see if that gives you enought room. Good luck:thumbsup:

It looks like shaving off a sliver from those brackets might be a better option. The thickness of the cowling is very thin while there is relatively a lot of meat to be able to trim off those brackets. Then touch up with black paint.
