Yosemite is an extension of the Roadhouse Roundup for those people who were not able to make it this year.

    The tiger will fall...

    From the Misfits ~

As the Misfits sung "Die Tiger Die"

What SLOIII riders would have seen had we had time, and turned north on hwy 1

It's not that far... and it's a heck of a lot nicer ride than (the ride) getting to Yosemite..... I'm just saying......
Your choice: Twistie-Turnies; or Flat dry blahs up the central cali basin

I am sure / positive we could find you a couch to surf on. Prolly more than a couch.

    FYI points on Big Sur:

    - the traffic at Big Sur was so light it was amazing.
(BUT: did it the week after school started)

    - open camping spots at nearly every campground and resort. (for same reason)

    - Hiked Cone Peak up the Ferguson rd (the "goat trail" rd we rode down wiff Reg and Tori)
.... And well; man oh man, bring a sun hat, sunscreen and water!!! At 5,155ft they put a Look Out station up there. HUGE VIEWS. Sorry no pics, batteries died. :(

    - Big Sur aint that big. It should be called Little Sur as you can see a most of it in a day.
(Colorado is a lot bigger) (hey, it's me talking here.... )

Why - Yes, Yes there are ................
(was that helpful or what... hehe)

There are many camp spots to consider
Julia Pferiffer (sp?) state park was prolly the nicest one i saw. Showers and all that jazz. We can discuss further.

Here is a good linkie, particularly for the hiking section of this site:

Have a timeframe in mind for your trip??

i was up by nepenthe the other day with tori, brian, and bob... It was a really nice day when we went through also. we had a great time... i have been thinking about doing a trip up there with jake and camping up on fergusen rd on whatever that campground is where we all stopped and ate at SLO III... Kind of a test run loading up camping supplies and stuff before we do the yosemite trip... I also plan on doing a trip to the pinnacles and camping...

Is posting it here okay? That way other peoples can see too...

Linkie here to a nice, and large, state-run park. Has showers, a nice creek, a water fall, a couple few Redwood trees, blah blah blah:
    Pfeiffer Big Sur SP
(this is the one I talked about before)

Here is a linkie to what they are calling an eco-site, with only two spots, that you must walk 1/8 mile to get into. But it is so very close to the waterfall on the beach (sweet!) i pictured above (but that i didnt talk about). AND: this one is RIGHT ON THE EDGE, overlooking the pacific ocean - SO F'n SWEET!!!
Note that the "garden" site is not as nice as the other camp site
    Julia Pfeiffer Burns SP

At the base of the Ferguson (goat trail) rd and hwy 1, is a campground called Kirk, I believe. It has water, toilets, trails to the beach, if that interests you. I dont know, maybe it has showers too. i dunno. It has a few trees, but not a lot.

If you camp up the Ferguson (goat trail) rd you'll find far fewer tree-covered spots, than Big Sur and I didnt see any up there with water, but then again they were free, without any crowd whatsoever. (and no crying baby in the next camp-site which happened to me at what was supposed to be a very nice spot, costing $35 bucks/night)

And be aware - there is a lot lot more in Big Sur than I listed here.
