If they can prove it is him, they need to revoke his license

if they truly followed him as stated in the article, then they could have pulled him over, cited him for speeding or whatever and then had an ironclad case. The way I read it, they never actually confronted the guy so cannot with 100% accuracy press charges. Those photo tickets always chapped my ass. I've never gotten one, but it's just the idea that gets to me. It's like one step from the auto-ticketing in Demolition Man or in 5th Element and that's too far for me.

dude, these damn photo-enforcement machines piss me off. I was in my cage a couple years back, and in the photo you can see my brakelights are on, but they tried to say I didn't slow down at the intersection... whatever happened to good, ol' fashioned police work? put a cop in a sleeper car behind that asshat and take his license or lock him up before he runs a light and kills someone

:eek:hwell::rambo:photo enforcement is a joke if it can not be proven to be him then he does not have to pay. Like someone said, before IF they followed him and saw him puting on the mask etc and speeding, then why the hell did they not pull him over? Seems to me they didn't care he was speeding in front of them or they didn't see him speeding. Either way they failed at an oportunity to act and therefore are not entitled to prosecute him.

I personally think that, the car gets the ticket ie....registered owneryou got the plate number then the ticket goes to the adress that the vehicle is registered too plain and simple...you dont pay the tickets the car cannot be registered until they are payed

it's all about money. this way they don't have to pay a cop to be on the road. just like the redlight cameras. i've been told when my inspection is up. i'm going to have to move my liscense plate, to a more visible spot on the bike. make it easier for big brother.

I wonder how fast you have to go through the intersection to beat the camera...

This guy is not to smart. The police will be looking for his monkey ass.

Now if he wore a Dick Cheney mask nobody would mess with him at any time!

Top Gear tried this a couple of years ago. Had to be going over 200 mph to beat it. Since a VFR tops out at 155, I don't think it would happen.

That is the unfortunate way that it is. However, how would you feel if someone borrowed your car/bike and went out and got a ticket. You would have to pay for it, even though you were sitting at work? That is the huge problem with things like this. If it isn't you, you still have to take time off work, go to the courthouse, wait in line, and argue your case that it wasn't you. Either way, you lose money. Either by work loss, or by paying the fine.

This is exactly what happens in Arizona. However, the law states that the driver must be identifiable in the photo. For this reason, they (apparently) won't even send the ticket if you're wearing a full-face helmet. I have not had the privilege of being photographed by one of these wonderful devices, but know of many who have but have never received a ticket in the mail.

wehn I borrow a car from a friend. i don't drive it like its mine.... if a friend takes my car they are responsible for anything that happens...if they get a red light or speed camera ticket they get to pay the ticket. my point is that the dude in the mask is blatantly flaunting the law he speeds all over and knows that the cameras are there... he needs some form of disiplinary action... the cops should pull him over if they have physically seen him I don't know why they haven't..

like I said in another thread , drive the way you want, but be prepared to pay up when you get caught.

    Full face

After seeing this “Monkey mask verses camera issue” issue I was thinking….

Now don’t set the flame throwers on max.

However any motorcyclist that wears full face helmets would fit into the same category (instead of the mask, substitute it for a mirrored/dark shield and full face helmet), it’s the same principle. Then the added security bonus for Viffers is attempting to photograph the license plate. If you have installed (I have) an eliminator kit; the plate is somewhat tucked up under the rear frame thus making it more difficult to photograph for the plate is no longer in a vertical position and the camera may work on a timer.

Quite frankly this individual may be actually better off wearing a full face helmet and claiming the helmet is for additional protection, then what happens? Someone will start selling full face shields, for those that can’t get used to sunglasses.

Solution – get rid of the cameras. I hear they are great for sharpening nighttime distance shooting.

Yes I wear a full face with dark smoke shield.

Has anyone wearing a full face helmet and eliminator kit received a ticket via traffic camera?
