    Brother Bear,

    Remember the ‘layers of retardedness’?

You have exposed the inner layer with the 1%er and Gray is exposing the outer layer regarding the general public. Grey’s comments may take this thread to the next level. He just laid a charge against society at large, but more importantly to many on this board. Whether they see the charge or not only time will tell, but I eagerly await the defense with cold Rolling Rock in hand.

No need to beat the dead horse. I am sitting in front of the class on this thread and have been paying attention so anytime the pop quiz is sprung; I’m ready!

I am going to start by saying, I agree in broad strokes with everything you said.

Some of them did try to swerve, of course they still kinda prove your point; cause then they hit an SUV beside them... Thus, no situational awareness.

I agree 100%. Knowing how to operate a vehicle, and how to ride/drive ARE MILES apart...

I know people in my sportbike club and witnessed in video ON THIS SITE, that are still counter-weighting (leaning body opposite way of turn or keeping upright, while leaning bike into turn) when cornering ON A TRACK!!!

+1 I wish it was just a little harder to get a license or even KEEP one for that matter. For example, I'd love to see a mandatory re-taking of the driving test every say, three years, because as you know skills erode over time and some people just plain need a refresher course. And don't get me started on the old people (you can tell when you only see knuckles on the steering wheel)

The problem with allowing anyone with just enough brain cells to pass the test is that now you gotta enforce low speed limits and the police have to almost treat every driver like they're retards incapable of safely exceeding the speed limit. Like the 70 mph speed limit on highways, we all know that a smart driver can easily AND safely exceed that by allowing room between cars and remaining alert for dangers.

Even when I'm out on a spirited ride I'm MORE concerned about OTHER bikers not about the police. I've had several real close calls by bikers who think they're the next valentino rossi.

Unfortunately, I don't really see anything changing for the better with road safety laws so we just gotta deal with morons.

it just seems to me that these idiots give all of us "bikers" a bad social image. Everyone knows the stereotype of the "outlaw Harley rider"... but you see a story like this on the news, and it trickles down to cagers on the road treatin' us crotch rocket guys like idiots too. These 1%'rs are now layin' on a slab, quite literally half the men they once were. Meanwhile, guys like you and me are havin' to remember our MSF roots to countersteer and avoid hazards like that moron in the Geo who wanted to see our paint closer, or the prick in a truck who got mad that we shared his lane for a sec. IT CANNOT BE THAT HARD TO DEFY STEREOTYPES.

Why is it that we never see a special on a news station about a group of guys who carved a canyon all day and returned unscathed? Just once, show the true motorcyclists, who know their shit and live to ride another day, instead of the ignorant asshats from the shallow end of the gene pool.

I agree with your point, but "we" (sportbike riders) do more damage to our image than "bikers" do by far. In the PGR in my area it is mostly cruiser riders, and most of them are Harley's, the rest are Gold Wingers. They all look at me and make plenty of comments about all the crap they see on YouTube with Sportbike riders stuntin and crashing, and how "all sportbike riders should learn to ride before they're allowed to get a sportbike"; like their crap doesn't smell... So while I agree with your point overall, "we" do FAR more damage to our own reps by allowing all the idiots we're speaking of, the uneducated riders, to go out and buy sportbikes and then go and get themselves tore-up or dead... We should get our own house in order before we complain about someone else's. "Our hypocrisy knows no bounds..."

As for the news coverage, that'll never happen. "It's not news" would be their excuse. I say, how about not even the good rides, but why not at least cover the charity work several sportbike clubs in my area do? That at least is "news worthy"; but, it's positive so we don't even get that coverage...

The band might be a little surprised if they got busted for copyright infringement by the "rule of law". I wonder if there is a rock group called Brother Speed?

I discovered the blood n guts part of the the Old Testament about the same time I discovered the titty pix in National Geographic..

I'll put the book on my list. Maybe in the interim maybe you can find somebody who has read the Cliffs Notes who wants to join in the fun as an instant expert..

    ^^^^^

Cliff Notes!? Man I hope that is some of your patented sarcasm Billy.

If someone needs cliff notes for Blood Meridian thay need an ass whooping.

Trust me, its one of a kind even though McCarthy pulled from all over to build that novel.

LOL not surprising at all, I hate to hear this, accidents are the shits. I didn't know this even happened in my neck of the woods, but one word here says it all.
"Harley Davidson" guess that's two words, they don't have any brakes or flickability. shessh!!! I'm actually surprised this doesn't happen more often, as those that ride in groups like that have no idea the fall out LOL they do now huh? Crazy, just crazy

You want to learn or help? This program was started by my friend Doug. He lost his two boys in the same accident. I would really like to get involved with something like this in my state. Still pondering the idea. This would be a good start in any state.

Check it out: BRAKES with Doug Herbert

"unless it is a Buell that is priceless" 02 VFR glad you liked it. I thought all missed it. You get a gold star:first:

V4bear I bow to your wisdom. Your 100% on the 1%er's. Tis a shame they get all the headlines.

Joey "Old is when the only two wheel vehicle you can ride is this:" at least he's still riding. Could be you in a few years.

Hey we all make mistakes driving/riding. It's what did you learn from it? If anything. I just heard on the news about 1/2 hour ago a woman was reading a book while OPERATING and crossed in to the next lane and ran in to the back of a semi!! WTF is that all about. I know people that the last thing on their mind when they get behind the wheel is driving! Really. I've ridden with them. Now that's scary. I now call all those type of people "Bob" in recognition of that friend of mine.

I realize things won't change about driving habits and laws. Because the majority of operators don't feel their driving is bad. So no laws, no better ed courses, no media attention and no responsibility. But there will be lower speeds, more "things" to control traffic like cameras and such. Blame the accidents on the roads, conditions, speed, grass was wet, to windy to haul rocks etc. On everything but their driving skills. It's been beat in to every bodys head, that if you don't get any tickets, in any accidents and obey ALL the laws your "A GOOD DRIVER" and speed kills! Yet these same people don't move over to let you on the highway, they ride in the "Monfort Lane" blocking traffic BUT doing the speed limit, hardly ever use turn signals and roll thru stop signs to get out in front of you doing 30 in a 45 mph zone with double yellow stripes to boot!

Yea as you can tell this raised a bug up my butt.:bootyshake2: Oh Bubba Z keep a few on ice. Think I may need one soon.

    AMF, beddy by time.........................

The video on their website shows them wearing no helmets. I thought the oregon had a helmet law also.

Edit: I see they have chapters in other states that dont have helmet laws. Makes sense now.
I will continue to stagger when I ride for my own safety and the safety of my fellow riders.

"Imagine the imagery of Sam Peckinpah and Heironymus Bosch as written by William Faulkner, and you'll have just an inkling of this novel's power."

Hmmm, I've added it to my reading list...

I just watched the vids on the Brother Speed website. I hate to say this about fellow bikers, but these guys may have actually been asking for an accident. they ride like maniacs, very little gear, no set riding pattern, holes in their group, guys haulin' ass for no real reason... And from the statements on their site, they could also be shittalkers... not that I know for sure, but they seem a tad mouthy for my taste...

Outlaw MC's tend to make enemies easily...
