Even when you try to do the correct thing, people's impatience makes them commit rude actions. I was driving my cage in the right lane at the speed limit when this self-important jerk whips in behind me and flashes his high beams because another car was "blocking" him from getting into the exit. Why he couldn't have simply adjusted his speed to get in behind that car in the first place, I do not know.....

OK I'm thinking you're trolling, but anyway.....
It's less about 'right' vs 'wrong' than dead vs alive.
You're clinging doggedly to this mantra of "But I'm right, right !?" and missing the big picture:
What's legal isn't always safe, and what's safe isn't always legal.
Safe = all vehicles going the same speed, in the same direction.
Safe = alive, uninjured, no damage to bike. No PO'ed cagers saluting as they pass.
By clinging to 'right' vs 'wrong', you're adding risk for yourself and everyone around you, intentionally creating a more dangerous situation than if you would just ride with the flow.
So after you get tagged from behind, your estate's counsel will, quite rightly, argue that you were 'right', and your survivors will be awarded a 'win'.

    Agreed, probably trolling but WTH,

You admitted you don't know if your speedometer is accurate. If you haven't corrected it, and you are riding at the speed limit as indicated by your speedometer, then you are indeed going below the speed limit. Typical correction factor is about 8%. SO if you are going 65 MPH as indicated on your speedometer, your actual speed is (65 x .08 = 5.2) 59.8. That means YOU are obstructing traffic by traveling BELOW the speed limit and those people passing you at 5 over while flipping you off are in fact doing the speed limit.

As an aside, this is exactly why I like driving/riding in Europe. Most people understand lane discipline there and actually allow traffic to flow. You can and will get ticket for "undertaking" or passing on the right. You can also get a ticket for obstructing traffic by failing to yield to faster traffic.

When I see some asshat blocking traffic because they think its their job to enforce traffic laws I just shake my head and pass when I get a chance.

actually in CA, if you are blocking the left lane, regardless of your & their speed, you can be ticketed. So if the speed limit is 75, and you are doing 80, but blocking the lane from others, you can be ticketed.

if you are on road with only one lane per direction, and you have 3 or more cars stacked up behind you, you are required to pull over and let them pass. Again, regardless of your speed, their speed and/or the speed limit.

I had no idea that one of the side effects was religious confusion, wow, that has to be a completely new one and you really should speak to the pharmacist about that one, it really should be added to the list.

"Warning, side effects include inclusion of the catholic church in your thought processes."

Nah......I have it on good authority that Brad rides a DN01

GoforaRide, you are certainly one entertaining fellow, you are my muse.

I agree with you. Did you know that pedestrians always have the right of way against vehicles. Yes there are "jaywalking" fines for cities/towns that actually enforce that law. The bigger question is if you are walking across a street and a car hits you, and you die, yes you were right for crossing the street but your dead. Now being in the right crossing the street, how does that help you now that your dead????

Actually, a cop can ticket you, as he can make up a ticket for anything, but it will not hold up in court if you are going faster than the posted speed limit. Seen it happen many a time. Just as I have had a ticket for "going with the flow" but I was exceeding the posted speed limit and not passing anyone, the judge told me that it doesn't matter what the traffic flow was going, I was speeding and that is against the law. A speed limit is just that, a "limit."

I am not approving people blocking the fast lane, I actually hate when folks do that, but if they are at the speed limit or above, in court the ticket will not hold up.....from the judges I know of at least.

I think maybe the best answer for gopher a ride is to check and see if there is a double yellow stripe to his immediate right when all those stupid people are passing him. Dominus Nabiscum.

    Gopher;

Please check to see if there us a double yellow or double white stripe to your immediate right when all these fools are passing and dissing you. We would all miss your posts and would have to return to websites featuring the latest in mullets to break up our day. TIA

as has already been mentioned, if your speedo is reading as you going the speed limit, you're probably under it and depending on the indicated speed you may well be as much as 10 or more MPH UNDER the limit. I'd flip you off too. If you're going to ride like that, go buy an old Buick.
