I finally bought a jacket. 90 bucks. pockets for armour, vents, and a removable padding for the winter.

I feel much safer riding, but it makes my hands feel naked.

What other gear should i be get, keeping in mind that i need to look professional. bus. casual

Seeing as your hands are naked, I'd go with gloves. Most people instinctively put their hands down first when they fall, and a bare hand won't hold up so well.

What ever you wear at work, doesn't have to be for riding... Get gear that will go over shirts/pants (pant's that zip all the way from the ankle to near the waist, then you can step out of them with out taking off your foot gear.... as said always wear gloves(you'll get use to them)....

I have Bohn under armor pants that can be worn under regular khaki pants or jeans. Rideing pants that you can wear over your regular/work pants isn't a bad idea either. Gloves should be a must. Just like its been stated before, it is a natural reaction is to catch yourself when falling so the hands will hit the ground. Gloves that are gaunlet style and that have additional armor over the nuckles is a plus. Just ask RVFR about that. Rideing boots that cover the ankle and calf to help prevent broken bones from the flailing if you do fall off the bike. Again all this will never guarentee that after an accident you will walk away, but it will greatly reduce the number of injuries that you will get without wearing gear. All this being said.... Ride safe.

I bought a pair of Joe Rocket gloves that had jel in the palms but I removed the gel area just below the fingers.
The gel would over lap my small hands and feel like a sock doubled over in a shoe.

Wait, arent you the guy that posted the "How far can you ride with no hands thread?"

You can just stick your hands in your pockets.

Business casual? You mean khakis and button downs or what??

Get yourself a tail bag and pack your work clothes. Then, give yourself an extra few minutes once you get to work to change.

After you buy a decent set of gloves, I'd go for the boots, brother... boots. Love my tourmasters. Very comfortable. Then go for a decent pair of riding pants with armor in the knees and padding 'round the hips.

"Business casual"? does that mean denim and polos, or what? WE NEED A DEFINITION :p

If denim is acceptable, go with Draggin' Jeans. Google em, they're amazing, and I'm already savin' for a pair myself. other than that GLOVES are a major priority, I know several guys who would've lost fingers if not for their gloves (myself included)

or you could just get an aerostitch roadcrafter... it is a suit made to zip up over your current clothing. This way you when you get to work, you just pack it up. Also, it will save your skin in a fall... I doubt khakis and a polo will keep you from roadrash!

I own one & love it.

It fits right over my flight suit or BDU's & I've also thrown it on over a t shirt & swim trunks to go to a pool party. You tend to get strange looks when you step out of a space suit wearing swims trunks with TCX race boots.

    KC-10 FE out...

I have some A-star gloves (similar to the ones above) and I love em.
Now that I've spent so much time riding with my helmet, jacket and gloves I feel naked if I don't have my gear and even sit on a motorcycle.

KC-10, that suit you posted looks cool. I had planned on getting some riding pants (required for a class I plan on taking next year) but I may have to check out one of those suits instead!

Have 3 main Gloves all Alpinestars for any occasion:

Default: Alpinestars GP-Plus wear most of the time for non rainy days from 55f to 79f.

Summer Hot: Alpinestars Octane S-Moto Glove usefull from 80f and up
( look similar in concept to KC10s SPS )

Winter and Wet: Alpinestars Gortex " Tech Road " which looked to have been since replaced by the 365 Goretex, wonderfull things always in my Ventura bag as they're 100% waterproof and warm enough unless temp drops below 42f for a sustained period ( have very thin thermal inners for colder days )
