Wow, that is nuts! My guess is they were on the SUV's tail and pissed them off...

    EDIT

No matter the reason, I hope they all recover. RIP to those who don't/died on scene.

Brother Speed like most clubs have a website.

    | Brother Speed MC

That corridor near Wilsonville on I-5 is just like some things in the Corps. A clusterfuck.

Hopefully the SUV drivers had a real reason to slam on their brakes otherwise karma's gonna bite them in the azz.

Anybody else see a major difference between KVAL's video interview and the web report?

Yes, big difference. BUT, also notice how the interviewee happened to know what motorcycle club they belonged to, where they were from, and mentioned that they "were busy taking care of their brothers"... Talked like a biker to me. Also he said there was a fatality and 28 bikes, and all the reports I've seen said no fatalities on the scene and 26 bikes. Misinformation?

Could the two SUV's have been driven by a rival OMG?

This may clear up some of your concerns. The news story is ongoing.

Please note that there are at this juncture "206" articles on this subject.

An admix of geography and sociology without any effort put forth should indicate that:

    1. The MC in question is Portland based
    2. The MC in question fly colors
    3. I-5 North near Wilsonville, Oregon is very near Portland
    5. DOT and news agencys have knowlege of things like large MCs.
    6. There is a significant amount of cellphone traffic on most roadways 24/7/365. I-5 is no exception.

    Conclusion:

Making up shit and drawing conclusions based upon little or no evidence hoping that gossip will do in place of facts is great on TV and a few beers in the barracks but in real life? I don't think so.

On the surface that looks a possibility, mind it would take someone monumentally Stupid to pull such a stunt infront of a line of bikers.

On the other side the bikes may have been riding too bunched, they should never be in a situation where on a clear day an unpredictable cage driver in front should be able to initiate such a horrific domino effect. Hopefully the early reports of fatalities are incorrect and the injuries heal quickly.

While not the same road situation or collision cause but the with a similar end result see belows thread on "How close do you follow":

If 26 bikes crashed at once. What's that tell you about the riders? With the wide berms of the road and the other lane if it was clear looked like plenty of room for emergency maneuvers. I wonder how many tried to lean their bikes to get out of the way vs a quick flick of counter steering? 26 bikes, 2 abreast is 13 rows! That's some distance behind the SUV. Or was it hit the rear brakes and not use the front because they will make you go down. Seems like some of those peope could use a MSF coarse.
Either way this has got to be a record. 1 SUV takes out 26 bikes! Those fricken cagers!!

With that type of top level crack reporters on the job, the story will soon be how one motorcycle caused the destruction of 26 members of an outlaw SUV club. Fox will pick it up to point out how SUV drivers are constantly being picked on.

There is sooooo much I found wrong with just the first video. 90% don't have helmets, 80% have no protective gear what-so-ever, tight "formation" and no staggered riding pattern, half of the riders were cutting off the person behind them by swerving in the lane... No wonder so many of them piled up! I hate to see accidents happen to anyone but I'm not sure we can completely blame the SUV in this case (I hate to say that!).

I wonder if we took a pole of those riders how many would have taken a motorcycle safety course

Yes, and I've seen it happen before so I would not be surprised at all.

Either way you look at it, every single one of those bikers was not leaving adequate space, cause if they were, this accident would have been avoided. Its their own fault.

Sorry for being harsh but there must have been at least 20 morons riding in that group. When we ride in a group we do our best to stagger riders and leave plenty of distance between each other so that shit like this doesn't happen. I understand that accidents will happen but I just can't imagine 2 dozen bikers all going down in the same incident. Motorcycles have superior acceleration and braking compared to other vehicles and if you are a smart defensive rider you can often avoid dangers on the road by having an escape plan always running through your head.

    Regards,
    Rollin
