Ok you must do this in the following order.
    1) Have fun
    2) Ride Safe
    3) Take pictures
    4) Refer back to #1
    5) Go home

How long you going to be in NC/TN?

A friend & I are leaving on Monday & coming back Saturday. This will be my 8th trip. We're staying in Cherokee as always.

Not sure. I have never ridden there before. I just promised I'd be home again by Saturday. Thanks for the Cherokee tip.

If you need any area info, let me know. This will be my 8th trip so I'm quite familiar.

    Cops and Dragons

I read on one the forums that motorcycle cops were on The Dragon for the first time.

Talk about being depressed. I just drove 711 miles from the CPRofNJ to Cherokee, NC. Nothing but blue skies & sunshine the whole way. I check the weather for tomorrow. What do I see? Rain... All fucking week. Needless to say, I AM NOT happy.

Oh well, at least I'm not in NJ with NJ assholes.

Sorry to hear about the buzzkill.. However, I do have a suggestion, the weather's better where I am in north georgia.

Have you been on US 129 also known as blood mountain? That's a real fun road in north georgia. Also check out route 348 as well. Hell, if you want, sometime after work we can meet up and I can give you an impromptu tour of fun roads in the area.

What you could even do is change hotels to further south in georgia there's no shortage of them in Helen, Georgia. In that town there are fun roads everywhere.

I went down to Deals Gap in Aug. Very much worth it. Prolly won't go back for some time, mainly b/c it was something to scratch off the list and on to the next. Be safe though, and watch out for cops. Especially on the TN side. We rode on Sun, and there were a sh*t-ton of cops. Road again on Mon, and not a single one. Literally, none.

Here are some rather uneventful videos from my tank bag. The Dragon technically begins ~ 2 min into the first one:

Well, we rode the Dragon in the rain today. It is entirely possible, just not near as much fun. We left Cherokee, took RT 19 then RT 28 then the Dragon then the Foothills Parkway then the Great Smoky Mountains Parkway back to Cherokee.

I drove my truck 711 miles to ride my bike 142 miles. We are weather aborting & returning to NJ on Thursday..
