I am going to do my first track day in October and as I was reading the requirements from the proper suit that is required attire for the tack and it read as follows....

    2. Leather or textile riding suits (i.e., Cordura, Kevlar, or Aerostich-type).
Two-piece suits must zip together; full circumference is required.

Does this mean any leather two piece suit can be used? I wasn't sure what "full circumference is required". I think it means that the zipper that joins the lower and parts must go all the way around? I thought these things had some sort of CE certification to used on a track? I just want to buy a cheap/good one for the track day and for hopefully future track days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Dino:

Full circumfrance mean it zips to the front, but their is always about 4 or 5 inches its doesn't go (the space above your junk so to speak).

As long as the suit is not a "mesh" textile suit you are fine.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Look in my profile and you'll see my black 'street' suit and my red, white and black leather 'track' suit.

My first track day with NESBA I used my two piece textile suit no problems.

Maybe contact them via phone/email for clarification to be sure?

My interpretation, and what's required out here, is that if it's a two piece suit (any material) it's got to zip into one another. Full circumference; yes, means all the way around.

Bubba is correct on this. Most full circumference zippers don't go the full way around. There is usualy that 4"-5" gab in the middle of the front. Its actually hard to find a two piece suit that has a zipper going all the way around.

Yamaha will be providing the bikes and I am signed up for the R1 and the R6. I am going to buy a less expensive suit from Cycle Gear. I was looking at this.

Cycle Gear - FRANK THOMAS: XTi One-Piece Motorcycle Suit, BLACK

Why don't you get the suit for just your track days, and have other gear for the street? (I assume due to costs).

(Not to get off topic, but as for riding - Not sure this weekend works. Family obligations on Friday night/Saturday, and was planning on getting out in the boat on Sunday).

Oh, and congrats on dropping a few pounds. Your bike is gonna start feeling faster. Strange, mine's feeling slower...

For riding in cold weather, get under armor cold gear shirt, and leggings. I have a perforated suit, and I put the under armor on underneath, and it really helps, even in really cold weather. An additional benefit is that it stops the knee area of the suit from chaffing on your knees, and also makes it easier for putting the suit on/taking the suit off, especially when your sweat soaked. There are suits designed to go under leathers, but they can be spendy, so I went with the under armor option.
