Well it finally happened, forced to sell my baby. Normally when I sell something whether it be an old car or my house I feel great because typically it's being replaced with either a better car or a nicer house but in this case there is nothing better coming so it just sucks. During this economic slow down it has allways been on the back of my mind "well if it get's real bad I can allways sell the bike" I would say this to my wife but not realy thinking I would end up doing it.
Long story short I sold my '06 pearl white with ABS for $9k tonight.
The guy wanted me to sell him some of my gear too, but I know there is another bike in my future so the answer was NO. soon as this BS economy can pick up I can get the "new VFR" that's funny because like most of you I have been tricked so many times before by the Honda rumour mill.

Anyway I need help with this sad situation.

That super sucks. I am in the process of losing my house under similar circumatances. I am less upset at this than if I would have to give up the bike.

Not sure if that helps or not. Good luck on getting back on your feet.

The worst part of it all is that All is that the sale of my bike will cover my shortfall for a few months and then at the end I will still be up shit creek but know without the bike. Man this is feeling worse by the second.

Man that sucks. I just dumped my vfr also partially to have cash to cover stuff for the next little bit. Once a couple properties sell (pray!!) I will feel better. I too am looking forward to the new vfr. The riding season here in the northwest is almost over anyway so my bike would be basically parked for 7 or 8 months. I hope stuff comes around for you guys. What my dad always says is "this too shall pass."

I hope you can unload those properties soon.
That's what happened to me, in an effort to get ahead I had three properties, all looks good and then everything goes in the tank. Followed with a mad scramble to get out but not with a loss that just about crippled me. So I guess it's not all bad it's just stuff at the end of the day. Theres just something about a guy's bike.

I guess there is probably a site dedicated to this kind of whining so I whon't continue, just taking a moment to feel sorry for myself, but now it's over and "on to the next"

If it's any consolation, you got a very good price for your bike. Hopefully you can buy another VFR soon.

You got 9K for an 06!? I would be thrilled if I needed cash and got that for an 06 and I got to keep my gear, even sweeter! Dont worry things will turn around and you will have another bike. Heck you can even upgrade and buy a Gen 4 for 3k and still be ahead and riding!

Ya your probably right, that's funny "upgrade to gen 4" I allways hear great things about gen 4, never had the opportunity to try one but I think I might look harder.

Wow they must go for much more in Canada. I think the US and Canada dollar are close to parity now, I not sure of the exchange rate when you made your purchase. Nine grand would be a lot for a 06 VFR in the states.

$9k is actually on the low side, I see them up in the $10-10500 range. Simple supply and demand, hard to find a good used one here, and when "new" they are all of $16-$17k plus tax.
p.s. the current exchange rate is about .92 cents on the dollar.
