    I just landed a deal on a new-from-the-crate 2007 anniversary edition.
Looking to add some parts that Honda doesn't offer.
I am looking for the best sounding pipes for the VFR.
My goals are to retain the twin cans, increase the sound to a throaty rumble, and maybe even gain some power too.

2 Bros gains power and sound, but I really don't want to hang a false can to keep the looks.

Any advice? video and audio links appreciated.

Looking forward to getting back in the saddle after a long winters night...

They all sound pretty much the same (cant really go wrong with any of them), just buy one that looks good to you and fits your budget. I went with a Leo Vince Aluminum cans setup, good quality, pretty cheap and sounds / looks good.

Um HUGE section on exhausts, perhaps looking those up would be a good place to start?

I've heard many different exhausts on the VFR and the Staintunes are the best sounding without a doubt!!

And even though you didn't ask I'll go ahead and answer some of the other burning questions that you have.....Shell Rotella is the best motor oil, Puralators are the best oil filters, and Michelins are the best tires.

Any other questions sir ?

    Regards,
    Rollin

+ 1 for LV's. i like norcal boys carbons but these were already on here when i bought it and they do sound great. heres a pic of them on my 07 RWB.

they have a deeper throatier sound than the stock system. ive also noted an in increase in fuel consumption of up to 20%, depending on the type of riding. it works most efficiently at speeds above 140Kmph for me.

my riding buddy likes to ride behind me because he says"it sounds like a motoGP bike" so i guess thats a compliment.

I would have recommended Devil Pipes, they had an AWESOME sound & look, and were also pretty rare, for that exclusivity. I think one or two folks on here have them. But, turns out I just got an email from them yesterday, because they are no longer carrying the VFR line, at least here in the states, and the response was directly from France (where they're made), so maybe not at all (wasn't clear in the email).

tbone - played the clip. Does the system have baffles installed or is it open? Sounds baffled, but PC speakers are crap. Also, I gather from the image that the CF is a light gray/silver color vs. the darker charcoal/blk.

please forgive the Noob question, but what's involved in gutting the stock exhaust?

I'd like to lose the weight of the stockers, but all the pipes seem pretty pricey to me, especially the CF ones...

I don't know if they are all this loud, but a riding buddy had the Devil cans on his Speed Triple. They were obnoxiously loud, way way over the top. So that on rides I would no longer let him lead, it was just too annoying to ride behind him. They were horrible. He also couldn't use his Autocom system on that bike, as the pipes were so loud they would activate the VOX and just transmit that racket.

In my opinion, the best possible sound is attained by getting a set of custom headers that eliminates the catalytic converter, and a set of staintunes. All in all it would cost at least $1500 bucks, but it sounds like a muscle car. There is a clip on youtube of a guy with this setup. I just have staintunes and they are awesome, but quite pricey.
