I don't know if it's been discussed, but here goes...

Spotted an HD V-Rod, man, is that a gorgeous bike, sounds great too - but it's still a Harley. Honda made an untimely introduction of the Fury into a crazed chopper scene that is winding down. One could only imagine the time & money spent on marketing, R&D, PR, etc. In comparison, Im sure the Fury is technologically leap years beyond your average chopper, especially on the reliability level. But, don't you think it would have been wiser for Honda to have designed a bike to compete against the V-Rod? Imagine it having a sport tuned twin or V4. It can be argued that the VTX is in the same class, but not to me, at least.

Opinions, thoughts, if you care to share...

    How are Fury sales faring?

The question should be how are VRod sales going? The Harleydoods don't like the bike. The Buell Blast is toast and the VRod is IMO soon to follow.

How bout a VRod engine in an MV Agusta?

You mean like a new Magna or something to fight the VMax? From the 'New Honda'?

My next bike will be a VROD .I`m keeping my VFR as a daily ride .But the metric stuff just doesn`t do it for me .The VROD many not be popular among the purists .But the Porche designed engine is where it`s at for ex-jap crowd .

The Fury was Honda's water tester. They made it to see what would happen just like the Honda Passport back in the day. The Passport paved the way for Honda's SUVs and the Ridgeline as well. If the Fury sells, Honda will move into that market, if not it won't.

Excellent thinking. The VRods are not that reliable and keeping the VFR will be less expensive than a VRod parts bike.

My first V4 was an 82 Magna 750 and was impressed with it. The V-Rod never impressed me other than being a verry striking looking bike. I won alot of free beers from a couple V-Rod owners in its first year it was on the road by smoking them with my 81 CB750. Now the Fury... as I stated before and the pics in my gallery show, when I first saw Fury at the Intl Bike Show in Clevland last winter, cool looking bike minus the fact that it looks like a trained monkey profomed all the frame welds.

If it was like the VMax, e.g. cruzer style, but still sporty, I'd think about it.

My first thought when I read the title was the 116hp VF1100 Magna. Sportbike performance in a cruiser package. I wonder why Honda let that one die when the V-Max is still going strong.

Something along the lines of the VMAX would be awesome, perhaps, MagnaFource (are you reading this Honda?).

Overheating issues was the main problem I've noticed on salvage listings.

The new VMax isn't selling well, again, an untimely introduction, but in a rough economic climate
