Hi all and found this locally yesterday. Has 52000klm and is immaculate for age. Has ohlins rear shock and ride away price is $4900 aus. What do you think? are these comfortable for rider and pillion? Looking at this as an upgrade from 1st gen vf.
    Cheers

last bike you will ever need...ive had mine for 13 years...even if you pay a bit over market( dont know the conversion rate on aus $) you wont care in the long run...maybe 3500-4000 for a good one here in the US...best bike you can buy

nice looking bike! can't blame you if you're tempted to grab it. just wondering, what's the US $ equivalent of the amount you're paying?

Converted to US, looks like your getting it for the equivalent of $3800 US, with about 30k miles. If its as immaculate as you say and it has an Ohlins, I would go for it. I am from Australia and know how expensive stuff is there, and for Australia, that is a good deal.

All good advise. Man if you don't buy it, your crazy, it's a major upgrade from a 1st gen, that and add in he Ohlins, Wow! you best get it before someone else does. As far as pillion, depends on what you're looking for in the way of the to do, handles two up fine for that ride that is a tankfull of petrol, and of course depends on the size of thy companion, all though there are better two up machines for the longer stuff, but this is looking to be a bargain. buy it, try it, then if it isn't what you want, resell, you won't have any trouble getting your money back. I wonder what shipping is to the states?

My wife's 5'-4" 115 lbs. and says she can ride comfortably for as long as it takes on the back of mine (Corbin...makes a difference to rider but not sure about passenger - maybe a bit more of a scoop/recess than factory).
Your pictures show a beautiful bike!

Yeah and think I will go test ride Tuesday on my day off. Took my Fiance to see it today and says it is better than the first gen just sitting on the bike stationary. Looks like it will be mine as soon as my first gen sells. Hopefully money to me Tuesday and buy this one the same day. Got the guys to start it this morning and started dead easy and sounded sooooooooo good with the D+D pipe. I just love the sound of the old VFR's. Will keep you informed and hopefully post some pics next week. Thanks to all again for the advise.
    Cheers

Pretty sure it has been resprayed at some point as the VFR decals are missing from the lower fairing. Seems a "mature" gent was the previous owner and looked after this beauty well. Oh yeah and it has braided brake and clutch lines too.:biggrin:

Anyone here on the Gold Coast (australia) know whos bike this is. The gentleman apparantly traded this bike just over 1 week ago at Bike Sales QLD Nerang shop. I would like to know some of the bikes history and especially from the previous owner. Hopefully someone knows this bike or its owner.

Well I took the 97 VFR for a testride today and have mixed feelings. The front brake felt very wooden or dull. Very firm to pull the lever and next to no feeling on the front brake. The bars also seemed to sit slightly to one side which makes me wonder why. Probably an easy fix by adjusting the triple clamp bolts?
On the positive side the bike sounds UNBELIEVABLE:biggrin: and the riding position is light years ahead of the first gen I am currently riding.

There is another bike about 100km away that I will look at Friday, if it is a good one I think I will be riding it home:ninja::biggrin::thumbsup:
It is a 95 VFR with 63000km, new tyres, registration till January, has been serviced, has a rear bag rack, and the owner is only the second for this bike. He has had for 7 years.
The price is good also, at AUST$4000, US$3320.
Will keep you informed and post some pics of the second bike when I can.

    Hmmmmm,
re-sprayed paint + awkward brake feel + bars to one side = suspicion of more than a tip over.
I'd try hard to get some kind of history detail prior to plunking down hard earned $.

Good to hear you took it for a spin. like that sound do ya, Brakes, more than likely glazed pads, not a big deal to replace and easy to bleed out the reservoir fluid to bring it all back to good. as far as the clip-ons being off, pretty common, and yes easy to make right, doubt very much it has anything to do with the front suspension being fu-barbed. I mean if I hit mine just right they'd be off. Ah, a 95 huh? man you have em all over the place. do me a favor and get me the add or email for the 97 please, that's if you don't buy it. I want that Ohlins..

Haha you sure are on a mission to get an ohlins rear shock
The 97 is at a dealers here and they wont give any information other than what I see of the bike, dissapointing considering the business they may miss out on. If I come across an ohlins somewhere here I will let you know.
    Cheers

Hey man, nice looking bike - I have a '96 vfr750f, had about 22000 miles on it when I bought earlier this summer, it is a wonderful motorcycle, you will like it a lot. I also have the D&D slip-on, and man does it sound sweet rolling on the throttle with that fat sound coming out the pipe! The surge of accelleration from 7000-10000 rpm is like a freight train - hope it works out for you!

    PD

I was wondering when you were going to chime in and call shotgun for that shock!
