low idle after hard stop

    hey everyone,gotta question.i own an 04 w/31k and so far its been perfect,but on my way home i had to stop short and afterwards the idle went below 1k for a few miles then went back to normal.any ideas as to what happened?

    Fuel slosh, fuel filter sedemnt moved temp bloking the exit .Replace the filter should fix that problem. Cheers Mike R.:thumbsup:

    I also have the asphalt black 2004 model and mine did the same thing...it actually stalled and when I restarted it, the idle was low. It happened twice just after I bought the bike used last year (only 1800 KMS on it) and I thought it might have to do with being stored for a couple of years. I would have been more upset if it wouldn't have restarted and tried to find the problem but it just returned to normal after a few minutes. I was just arriving home so the bike was warm, fluid levels have always remained full. Motul oil change every couple of thousand Kms.
    Whatever it was, it has never done it again and I'm up to 12,000 KMS now. Hopefully you won't need to worry about it either.
    I like the suggestion of replacing the fuel filter though...a partially plugged filter will do weird things.

    it was the new oil.....see now add slick50 and it will help the brakes last longer,.
