Engine shutting off coming to a stop

My bike is an 04. In the last several weeks my bike has shut off a few times coming to a stop. I am just curious if this is something that I should start worrying about or can someone tell me what to do to stop it from happening again?

What is your idle RPM set at? I had mine set at 1200RPM and I had the same issue. It would even die from time to time between shifts. I bumped up the idle to 1300RPM and all is well. Manual specifies 1200RPM +- 100RPM so bumping it up to 1300RPM wont hurt a thing.

To confirm that was my issue I even did the opposite and dropped the idle down to 1100RPM and it made things worse where it would die on a regular basis. As soon as I went up to 1300RPM all my troubles went away and so did my worries.

 

I agree I had the same issues and turned the idle up and all was well.

I have mine set at 1400. Makes it easy to leave the light and the others in thr group hate I eat them off the light.Fun for me.:biggrin:

My idle is set at about 1100. I will try turning up to 1400. Thanks for the info guys.

 

I tried 1400 but it was just too high of an idle for me personally. Maybe once I get my exhaust I will be able to stand it a little more

 

had same problem with mine changed the plugs now runs fine and idle back to 1,000 rpm

 

I just bumped it up to 1400 so I will try that a few days and if I don't like it I will drop it some.
