I use a Garmin Nuvi 260, fitted to my VFR with a RAM Mount I modified to use the 260's mount ball. It's a car GPS but it's $200, pocketable and runs 6 hours on a full charge.

Nola, I have the same mount you do but mine doesn't stick out from the stem as yours does. May I ask what's different?

I just got the bike last week, got the Zumo this week. Mounted it off a ball attached to the tank mounts. I felt it made it easier to get to key than with a stem mount, not sure just an opinion. It also allowed it to be mounted a little lower which I like now but time will tell.

Should get Scala Q2 headset this week and then will bluetooth all together with phone and should be ready to ride.

    Cheers, Tom

Gadgets man, GADGETS! Gotta have gadgets! LOTS of gadgets! Enough gadgets to warp the magnetic field of the very planet!

Seriously though, in my case, I already have the Nuvi rigged and I just don't have much faith in cell GPS, the music via cell was accidental. The game plan was to have a bluetooth MP3 player linked into my J&M helmet setup but discovered my Samsung Omnia could link full stereo too and just as good as the player. So, I fired the player and bought a microSD for the cell large enough for my entire music library, with room to spare. As for the gadget count, I've gone from 3 gadgets to two and gained phone access as well...

I got annoyed with having to constantly look over and around my GPS and Sirius radio to see my speedo, tach, idiot lights, and voltmeter when I had them RAM mounted in the center. I ordered two RAM reservoir ball mounts and last night mounted the GPS on one side and the radio on the other. I reused my short RAM extensions. Now I can see both easily even with my large Marsee tank bag on, and can also see my entire dashboard at a glance. Works for me!

When I use my GoPro Hero camera, I use the suction mount on the inside of the windscreen, above the gauge cluster.

I don't mount my radar detector any longer. Never really found it to be all that useful, and it was annoying. Used it mostly as a voltmeter before I installed a dedicated analog gauge. Being vigilant works pretty well, though I know I'll wish I had it on my bike at some point.

anyone not have the stem mount? I've got the Ohlins there, no room. Maybe I'm just stuck using the old 2D do it yourself.

Before that it was just know the route, hope you don't get lost along the way.....

Ram makes a suction cup mount that I've used on the underside of the windscreen. I know, sounds kinda scary being a suction mount but the thing is actually rock solid. I swicth between that and a stem mount based upon how much I need to pack on top of the tank.
