Some of you know (from my intro thread) that I recently slid my pearl white 06 :(

On the up side of the accident, my insurance is paying for me to repair the bike.
I've been looking at a set of plastics from nicecycle.com and I'm debating getting an unpainted set (to have painted locally so I know it all matches my tank...little weary of their pearl white not being the right color) or buying their RWB set.

It might look a little goofy having RWB and a white tank....might look great. I dunno.

anywho, put in your vote, post any advice you might have

oh and I do plan on installing some frame sliders so if/when I go down again, I don't scratch the side of the bike to hell!

Pearl white or RWB???? Very hard to decide, but I think I would stay pearl white since that is what I have my nails painted right now. It might be stupid girl logic, but at least I made up my mind!!

If you want to retain your individuality, stay white, and stay with OEM plastics for a real match.

The Honda Pearl White is a 3 stage paint and a real beactch to match. if you want to taint, paint it all.

The downside to that....It's going to cost me $1100 for plastics for 1 side of the bike.
I'm getting a tank (used...still white and at half the price of new I couldn't say no!) since mine has a 2 big dents in the right side (bought it that way) and If I have to, I'll have the tank and all the plastics painted at the same time. I'll be into the repairs about $1500 for all new plastics(instead of front, rear and 1 side I'll have both sides and and a new fender), new paint every where and frame sliders so I don't go through this again

    Here is your chance!
Paint it like you would like.
As stated above, that paint is next to impossible to match.
Use OEM plastics or you will not be satisfied.
I scuffed up one of my beetle bags, on which Corbin could not match the paint for '06 black, from the get-go. I got them both repainted locally. The best painter in the county worked for weeks to get close to a match.
$400 in materials later, I've come to the conclusion that if that machine gets anymore paint work, it's at least going two tone.
    Choose well, and good luck!

    Man...that's nuts!
Why is Honda paint so hard to match?? My moms ridgeline had some paint work and the guy at the body shop told me the silver they use on that thing is a pain in the ass to get right...

Any of the metallics/ pearls are very difficult to match due to many factors...

    1. Concentration of the fleck/ pearl
    2. Direction of the spray pattern (Yes it makes a difference)
    3. Distance from the target
    4. How good the prep work was done
    5. How well it was color sanded/ finish sanded
    6. How good is the paint/ clearcoat used

    etc.
