I have always disliked the taste of beer. Really it isn't the initial taste that I dislike it is the awful aftertaste. I did halfway enjoy one beer though, Fat Tire (maybe Flat tire, I forget). Maybe I'll have to retry beer when I can drink again.

Hmmm, commercial brews tend to rule the roost here in South Africa. There are some small breweries, but their beers tend to be insipid.
My personal favourite is a Namibian beer called Windhoek Lager, followed, I guess, by Heineken, a local version of Amstel and then Millers.

The CEO's from Anheiser Bush, Coors, and Guiness were having lunch one day. The waitress came and asked for their drink orders. The CEO from Anheiser Bush said he'd have a Budweiser, the CEO of Coors said he'd have a Coors, and the CEO from Guiness said he'd have a Coke. When asked why he was drinking Coke, the CEO of Guiness said "If you guys aren't going to drink beer, then I'm not either."

Like Monty Python says:"American beer is like making love in a canoe: f**king close to water.

Hate to piggy-back your answer, Rollin, but I too love Dogfish, but I prefer the 90 min. As for guinness, I prefer the extra stout as it has more flavor. Upstate GTI, I definitely agree that wheat tends to rule my summers as well. Sam adams summer ale is a nice light summer beer.

I lived in Germany for six years while in the Air Force and traveled all over Europe. I must say the German beers are some of the best, my favorite being the Weizen beers or commonly called wheat beers. Like in the old days of milk delivery here in the states, you could have your favorite brew delivered to your doorstep once a week if you like, just leave the case of empties out on the doorstep and the local distributor would replace with a full case and you'd be billed once a month, neat!

I like Michelob Ultra. (It's like love on the beach-- full of fuckin' water, but refreshing...) It's also a good beeraholic brew, one that you can drink a lot of without feeling like you're drinking carbonated 10W-30 motorcycle oil.

Sam Adams Light is also nice.

It depends on where I am.
With the NCP It is always Coors Light Bottles.
With my best friend, he makes a pretty wicked home brew, differant flavor everytime, each better then the last.
If I am at a restaurant, it is always Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, or Heineken (sp?).
I get a great variety by drinking whatever beer is the house favourite of where I am at the time :) when in rome...
The wife will make us corona with salt and lime if we are at home or BBQ'ing
and my afterwork lazy beer is bud.
Dont flame me but I love a good sweet wine like white zin for a great fast buzz.... gives ya the bad hangover if ya over do it tho.
    Great post!

Mostly - Corona for summer (no lime for me), Becks Dark in winter. After that, I generally have an import taste, but then really, damn near anything that is real beer. (no wheat fake beer for me).

My favourite beer types change with seasons too, through this Winter I'm loving the particularly good local beer James Squires Amber ALE but sometimes stray to a British Ale eg Boddingtons, in Summer its usually an Imported beer eg Germans DAB, Italys Moretti or Belgiums Hoegaarden that wet my whistle but there are also some very good local boutique beers like Bluetongue or Barons Lager I've been dallying with.

    JAMES SQUIRE AMBER ALE
    [IMG]

A blend of pale, crystal and carapils malts produces a distinctive coppery colour, rich malt sweetness and persistent creamy head. The flavour is very ale-like with a lingering slightly nutty finish. Willamette hops are added late in the kettle boil for a refreshing citrus (almost grapefruit) hop character.
