I have the sup. set as stiff as I can get. Yes 6th w/abs. right turns only and it higher than the cat it really up on the header a little behind the foot peg.

If you're sure your suspension is up to snuff, get your butt off the seat a bit more and hang off to decrease the necessity of that kind of lean angle - or just slow down some.

I'm sure the rear shock and the front forks are set as stiff as poss. but shouldn't I be dragging the feeler.... I thought before I drag the headers.

Absolutely you should. My right side feeler is about half worn down and not a mark on the header. Makes me really think you have a suspension or tire problem. You running OEM tire sizes?

yeah stock tires the bikes only got like 1400 miles on it. I'll check it again but the abs models adjustment are really easy to get to. so I'll double check.

oh and BTW this was on really smooth pavement so no bumps or anything.

How much do you weigh? If you are going in hot and weigh above avg for a japanese test rider, you are putting a helluva load on a stock rear shock. I used to drag mine a bit until I learned to get out of the seat a bit more, and then I also invested in a penske rear with a spring for my weight and riding style. the stock spring is for sport touring, not racing...and it's for someone around 165 lbs or so I'm told...

yeah I'm a bit heavier....around #250+ so I could be compressing the springs a bit...The only problem is the abs model has the nice remote adjuster and I really wouldn't want to lose that. Does the penske mount the same?
I guess I could raise the rear alittle??

change to correct spring for your weight and reset suspention sag.
the only time mine drags when I have my 6'-4" 200lb son on back or I am riding really hard and hit a bump mid corner.
so look into a heavier spring.

How did you manage to scrape the exhaust pipe? I scraped the peg nipples a few times, but not the header.
