Anyone have a good substitute for the expensive paint at Color Rite?
I'm doing the 87 r/w/b scheme on my bike. I'm not crazy about paying a crazy high price for a small amount of paint, but if there aren't any alternatives, then...what do you do?

How much should I buy to do the top of the tank and fairing (like the factory scheme)?

At the prices Color Rite has, I doubt I'll be purchasing the Shasta White either. What did you buy as an alternative, and how much did you buy do to the whole bike? White is white...right?

If I could bring myself to do it, I'd just do flat black courtesy of Krylon. But, since I can't...I'm going with a factory r/w/b scheme.

I used a GM blue paint code WA815K, to touch up mine and it is dam close. If I were going to repaint, I would use that. Haven't checked the price difference though. As for white, as long as it isn't pearl you should be good.

    Color Rite prices are

Is it a metallic candy, or just a regular base coat paint? I found a source where it shows up as "Arrival Blue Metallic".
these guys have a swatch that appears lighter. The Dark Ming Blue Metallic from them looks closer.

Here it looks closer to the blue from Honda.

Arrival blue is it. Its not exact but I think it would do for a RWB paint job. Havn't seen the ming blue. My body shop says its a single stage paint with a clear on top wich makes it two stage. Like Crusty said I think you'd be happy with whatever RWB you came up with as long as you pick out the colors you like. Cant wait to see what your finish product looks like.
