I suppose since I didn't do an intro (like I should have) and everyone keeps asking if I'm a pilot; then this'll have to do.

Echo is military phonetic for the letter "E"

3 is well, the number 3.

Niner is how the number 9 is said in military radio jargon, cause nine is easy to misunderstand over a radio.

I was a Forward Observer in the Marine Corps, 20 year's ago, and since we called fire (i.e. "spotted" for indirect-fire weapon systems) for Mortars, Artillery, Naval Ships, and CAS (Close Air Support), we spoke on the radio to zoomies (aka Pilots) all the time, so I had to have a call-sign; E3 was my rank, and I had intended to stay in until I was an E9, so there you go: E-3 to E-9, shortened to E39, or Echo3Niner...

My first wife left me with two small boys and I was given a choice, give up my boys or get outta the Corps (non-deployable, the Corps was less family-friendly back then); wasn't much of a choice. Unfortunately I didn't get serious with wife v2.0 until I was out for a few years, or I woulda stayed in (and retired this year...) But, the kids are carrying on the legacy for me, so all's good.

Very easy. .: e is for Enrique.
    Cabrera is my last name.
I tried to change for another but couldn't do it.
I'd like something like VFRMEX02 ( this is my second VFR)

    Just a loaded word...

"A proverb is a short, generally known sentence of the folk which contains wisdom, truth, morals, and traditional views in a metaphorical, fixed and memorizable form and which is handed down from generation to generation."

I was doing repossession in the hood in Portland OR one night and a little kid was running down the street saying the Da Repo Man is coming. The guy sitting next to me started calling me the DaRepoMan and it stuck. I'm now the CEO of DaRepoMan.Inc dba Bulldog Recovery in West Texas

I was a ninja :ninja: in a former life, but that was all boreing. I then became a CIA spook, you know, snipeing "targets" of interest. Doing the whole espionage thing wasn't challengeing. I then started to solve quantum physics but that stuff was so elementary. I help start the internet but did I get any credit....nooooooo. So with all my past experience my friends started to call me diVeFR and it kinda stuck. So I got the VFR to make to make the name make sense. Then theirs the "cover story" I've had to tell people. That I'm a commercial diver working in the Gulf of Mexico.

Thank you all for your input! It is interesting (and funny) to see how folks came up with their "handles/screennames!" Let's keep this alive!
