    Hi all,

Just bought a custome painted yellow 2000 VFR with 19k miles...looking to be riding in northern IL and southern WI.

This is the 2nd bike I have owned and look forward to seeing just how many miles this bike can take. My buddy owned a VFR and took that across the country, so I plan to see what this bike can do.

Although it has 19k miles, I think the bike has just been broken in, and hopefully I should be able to at least hit 60k or more with it.

I'm still learning the feel of the bike since I have only had it 4 days, and I will be reading a ton on how to change my own fluids and look after the bike. I am sure I will be reaching out for help when needed.

Beautiful bike. The 2000s are all yellow, by the way.

    Welcome aboard.

    Yellow color

    Thanks,

I realize all 2000's were yellow, this one has a pearlescent paint job though, which I don't believe was the stock color, but I might be wrong. Just going on information from the place I bought it from...again you never can be 100% sure of what a dealer tells you...

    Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome! Nice looking bike. Are you in the city or out in the burbs like me?

Lots of nice riding once you get north or west of the congestion. Speaking of SW Wisconsin, I'm heading out that way in a few weekends to try my hand at camping with my bike. Just need to figure out how to load my tent, etc on the back first!

Thanks for the welcome, I'm actually in Grayslake, right next to Gurnee.

I *should* be heading down to Lisle in a few weeks on the bike...just trying to get some paperwork straight...we can thank the wonderful WI and IL DMV for that.

Yep, the color is called "Pearl Yellow". I hope they didn't charge you extra for a custom paint job. Still a beauty though.

I'm loving the bike so far...extremely smooth power band and fairly comfortable. I'm looking forward to putting a ton of miles on her.

Welcome and hello from a neighbor from your area. Grew up in Antioch and live in Lake in the Hills.

Purchased my VFR800 in 2006 and love it. Even love the VTech. Not to thread jack, but you should check out CLSB (Chicagolandsportbikes.com). We are a very large group (all of us wear full gear for safety) and one of the main guys rides a yellow VFR. Possibly a 5th gen.

You should look into a Sargent seat if your going to log lots of miles. Well worth the money and nice quality seat with better padding and a little extra with on the back end for your passenger.
