I was cruising on the homeward end of my ride today and got stuck in summer weekend traffic. Here in the mountains that means a stupid slow old guy in an RV and 14 cars getting pissy cuz they're stuck behind him with nowhere to pass. I took my first opportunity to get out of that line of cranky cagers. I gunned it and jumped out of line and decided to get past as many of them as I could. I was goin 120 by the time I passed the old guy in the RV at the front of the line.
Cool, free to roam...until I see Mr CHiPpy pulling off the road a few hundred yards ahead. So I slow down to the speed limit expecting to see his reds and blues as he pulls out behind me.

SCORE. all I see is a cloud of dust as he rolled up a side dirt road away from me.
So, knowing the one CHP on that section of road was behind and no factor, I rolled on and enjoyed a spirited ride home.

    Not a clue!!

I haven't had a ticket for over 20 years, but I'm sure not that I have the VFR it wont be long. Yesterday going to work on a back country road mostly posted at 45, there is a small straight up hill passing area. In third went around a car, wound it to redline, hit 4th, ( getting used to the power) looked at the speedo, 103, holy Shit!! Not 15 Minutes later, getting on the freeway went around a BMW, and you cant just pass them, you have to spank them just a little, but again 101. I got's to back off, never had a bike that could reach these speeds so fast, and I'm thinking it isn't nearly as fast as some of the bikes out there. One thing did change for me, I have been using a helmet that I had gotten from a friend that quit riding after 400 miles on his new bike. This paticular helmet buffets really good over 70, I have a new Shoei and the buffet wasn't there, I'm thinking the smoothness made me feel as if it wasn't as fast.

    I worried about me.

Well I was just motoring down the freeway a couple days ago minding my own business. I was only doing like 110 MPH and the traffic was only medium in density. It was easy to weave in and out. Then this Friigen cop pulls out after me. Like man...Go have a doughnut ...bacon. I just fliupped him the perverbial salute and cracked it open some more. Well the shits had a roadblock set up ahead. Them dimb asses left enough room for me to get trhough though. Sure as hell though, they had a bear in the air and were following me from the heavens. Well the next roadblock they got me. Them bastards threw me to the ground and just proceeded to kick the living shit out of me. They tazed me and sprayed me and had their way with me. They were making plans to send me dwn to Guitmo as a road terrorist. the CIA were called to come to assist. There were 5 of them and just me. But I came through and kicked all their asses, flattened all their tires, bent their antenneas and flew off on my mighty VFR. I used my built in particle beam and vaporized the skyward bear and called my buddies in the KGB to deal with them dumb shits in the CIA.

You wanna pass me the dubbie dude?

Mine wasn't quite like that :p

I mean, this stretch of freeway is right near my home, and I'm used to havin' zero chippies out there... it's the friggin' boondocks for cryin' out loud... I guess he just happened to see me zippin' by after he had gotten his fuel... I was movin', tryin' to keep the bike from gettin' too hot in the 104 degree heat... and it didn't help that I was kinda, sorta, pacing a Corvette...

All in all, I deserved a ticket, since I was technically doin' wrong... still chaps my ass though, I can't imagine anyone who enjoys receiving a ticket...

Can imagine a few who enjoy writin' em though...

Thanks Randy, great frigg'n story, thats the best luagh I've gotten around here in a while. It was like a Hollywood movie script. Great build, suspenseful climax, and a comedy ending.
Were you or have you been involved in such a chase as was described in your story?

What a coincidence after posting in this thread today while driving home from my parents house a cop coming from the other direction flipped a quick one and paced us a good 6 miles. Sucker had nothing to get us on, cruise had already been set to the speed limit.

The only time I've been pulled over when I was actually driving I was doing the speed limit. Aparently I was suspicious for driving down the road at that time of night even though it is a major road. The cop would not let me leave for over half an hour and kept asking me questions clearly aimed to incriminate myself. Thought that was going to happen again because I said something bad about the popo herem. :p

It is so awful yet they do it to pregnant women and ladies so old they'd break a hip just falling down.

One of my old buddies agreed to get tasered for a news segment he was reporting... All he said about it was that he regretted it 100%.

So...Court found you guilty. By your own comments in this thread... this is correct. But the LEO's attitude. If it was truly poor, then that should be addressed. I am tired of being branded by those who have had a bad experience with the police. Doesn't matter what proffession you deal with or any other association for that matter. There are dinks out there. But the police should treat you with courtesy and respect. Keep in mind, your response to him could trigger a less than appreciated response. Does this particular incident warrant a complaint to his supervisor? Or is there a reason his attitude sucked. No need to reply. You know the answer and I am sure you will deal with it in a proper manner.

We need pix of the artwork though.

Damn cops, I allways downshift twice and max the RPM....( I'm the damn cop with the M4 on his back) and yeah, the ohio troopers hate it when I downsift. They are a bunch of meter maids anyway. real cops don't f*ck around with this traffic crap when there are more important jobs to do. Personal opinion after 11 years on SWAT. I still feel like smacking my self after the crap I did as a young paratrooper to the MP's, hehehe, pansies. All kidding aside, it's againt our policy to attempt to pursue a bike. The crown Vic dont stand a chance to catch it and it can end real bad.

I have had the gamut over the years - the last ticket on a bike the LEO was super nice and said he rode too, and is just require to do his job. Even though I got the ticket, It was at least pleasant. Then recently, a sheriff pull me over in my car for no front licence plate. He treated me like a suspect for a robery. I ended up totally pissed at the guy. He had no business working as a LEO. Jeez, it was just a traffic stop!
