To funny, this is the last subject I'd thought I'd have a comment on, sheesh okay was out on a good ride, weather is as good as it can get so I thought, whats that they say about it being to good? LOL anyway found on the way back I was thinking damn its a bit warm out especially when sitting in slow down stop-n-go on the freeway, this totally took me by surprise as you know here in WA we really don't get that much of it. So when is it to hot for you? When we got back, found out most of the ride was in the mid 90s was nice but man it was a bit on the way warm side, felt like I drank 2 gallons all night long. and I was was a bit on the dragging side. Really goes to show, Keep hydrated when it gets Hot.

I'd say it is too hot when it reaches 80 before 9 AM like today! Last year about this time we rode in triple degree heat on our way to and from Zillah. I wasn't overly hot as long as I was moving, had my textile jacket and cheap leather pants along with a backpack.

I couldn't wear my jacket home yesterday from my commute...and paid for it!

I was a block from home when a wasp bounced off my face (shield open) no ill effects. I thought, lucky me. Just then I feel the bastard stinging me on my chest! Ahhhh...I am swatting my shirt against my chest trying to kill it. Finally get to a stop, hit the kill switch and jump off the bike. Looked down my shirt and he is still in there. Got me good.

Maybe a lesson in there somewhere...

On a planned ride I dont mind the high temps. In town jaunts at 107f, like today, aren't my idea of fun.

I find it's too hot, when "I'm too sexy for my shirt".......... Depends on the "dewpoint" if it goes above 65 I don't like it..... But in your case if you're not riding in hot temps. much, it stands to reason that you probably haven't invested in the latest cool gear. It makes a diff.... but it's more $$$ to keep everything in your stock bins (closet)..... Like I have a Full blown rain suit $$$ and have only worn it once in about 3 years.......

Dew point and humidity can wreak havoc on you. Hot is one thing, but that stifling air that doesn't seem to even make it through the mesh at 40mph bloooowws.

I think today we're at about 90F, 90% humidity, and a dew point of 72. Its oppressive.

Vermont hasn't seen 90 degrees yet this summer. It has rained almost every single day, too. Not ideal riding weather.

Today was supposed to be sunny, and as I gaze out my windw, it's totally overcast.

Bad weather compounded with terrrible forecasting. FTL.

I came back from Long Beach CA acouple of weekends ago. It was 60 and misty when I started and 110 when I hit Phx. You can't cool off at 90mph. You just sit there and sweat and watch the running temp of your bike sit on 210. But I did recover nicely with aspirin and red wine. Ok, I had a couple of gatoraides on the drive in...

A few weekends ago riding from Sacramento back to the bay area. Air temp guage showed 111F and traffic was horrible. Splitting lanes going 30mph didn't afford much cooling air, especially with my leather jacket that does not breathe well. had to stop and get water after Fairfield. But as soon as I hit the bay temps went down into the 60F's and it was great!

In Houston a few weeks ago the temps rose into the 100s and of course here in the south the humidity is atrocious. It was to hot to even breath in a helmet. It was like haveing someone in front of you pointing a hair dryer in your face. In Texas you dont have to wear a helmet. I'd rather not ride than go without one.

I was out acouple nights ago for a quick ride. Ran into a dust storm at 10pm, 107 degrees. Lost sight of the offramp sign. Dust in my helmet sticking to sweat on my face. Limped home.
