hey does anyone know where to buy kevlar fabric. I bought a pair of draggin jeans but I'm not please with cut of the jean . I'm thnking of taking my old jean and lining them with kevlar
Link to McMaster-Carr aramid fiber cloth..... McMaster-Carr Kevlar is a trade name from Dupont. If you want generics for less cash, search the web for aramid cloth, aramid fiber, etc.
I've gone on a couple of site but there are all different type I'm not sure what to get. What weave and thickness I'm lost
Adding kevlar to jeans Would leather sections sewn to inside of the jeans work? Seems to me leather would cost less and you could get it perforated for warm weather riding.
Leather is used in Cortech's riding jeans - Cortech DSX Denim Pants - Street Bike - Men's Riding Gear - Motorcycle Superstore I like them a lot more than the various kevlar lined pants I've used - less bulky and less hot.
In order for leather to be on the protection level of kevlar it's going to have to be a lot thicker..... Which is the reason kevlar started in the mc market in the first place..... If they have leather inserts in jeans that are lighter/thinner, than your losing the protection.... As far as a no name brand of Kevlar.... I feel there should be a test standard, which I haven't seen..... Kind of like "The $10 head/$10 helmet" There might be some QC Test out there, I just haven't found it.... And I'm refering to an independent source.......... JMO
If you live in an area that has a boat repair/fibergass shop they more than likely have spare leftover cuts of kevlar cloth for sale cheap
