after you push the Gen7 button, you put your eyes up to them real close (like at an optometrist) and two knitting needles come out and repeatedly jam themselves in your eyes. After that, the Gen7 is an awesome Gen1

come on people.........lets be a little more mature about this....all we wanna to know is what the damn thing is for......(My guess is that it is a BS meter, for those "no shit there I was" stories)

or its the proximity sensor for the chipped key for the H.I.S.S. system

It's the "self adjusting thermostat" button.

Need a 170 degree T-stat? Press five times and recite "The Catcher in the Rye". Need a 160 degree T-stat? Press button five times and hold for 8 seconds and tell Mom you love her.

Originally it was designed for a button that when pushed would tell the rider what the best oil, tires, gasoline octane, R/R aftermarket company, coolant, chain, FI map, exhaust, air filter, and wax for the bike would be and where to get those items.

Unfortunately during testing engineers noted that when activated the rider immediately stopped and began heatedly arguing with the bike.

This went on for a while until the engineers themselves decided to ride and activate the feature themselves rather than the test riders...... the arguments then became twice as long and heated.
At this point it was to decided to do away with the feature altogether rather than suffer the publicity nightmare of scores of VFR riders pulled over on the backroads of the world yelling at their bikes.

Im not sure but i am pretty sure it has something to do with the security system or something. That is only a guess though. I know that is a Gen 6 thing. Good luck finding out the truth. These guys are brutal! It could be for Light Speed though to get you through rain storms or force field activation...dunno!

I cant believe you guys dont know what this is. I'm new to Hondas and I still know what it is.

It was supposed to be a Chuck Norris panic button. But Chuck said he only helps guys that ride Harleys.

Chuck Norris once kicked someone so fast that it broke the speed of light, went back in time, and killed Ameila Earhart as she flew over the Pacific Ocean.

on the theme of lights here, i'm gonna guess it's a backlight button for the spedometer.

that or it turns your headlight into a batsignal so batman can come help you fight crime.

    did you try pressing it?

Couldn't be a pez dispenser, would have to be a smarties dispenser... They're round. Was there a recent ride with some blank spots after the stop at the bar? Could be the breathalyzer ignition interlock....
