well im not running a F2 swing arm it's still a stock VF500 with no modifactions, truthfully since going to a 150 tire i have'nt felt any loss of power, the 00 F4I rear shcok has to be machined to fit on the 500's, my wreck! i've come to realize that the reason i wrecked was i pushed the bike way past it's limit's and she did like it one bit.., as far as a collector bike sure they are if you have a nice all stock bike with no or low miles.. but i would never put mine up just becouse it's a collector's bike....this bitch will get rode just as hard as the new bike's...as for your forks bro you need to get those thing's fixed that pretty unsafe.....

My thoughts exactly on the forks. What PSI do you run yours at? Do you think a seal rebuild kit will allow them to hold air again?

So you didn't have to mod the VF swing arm in any way to access an F2 tire? Did you use the stock VF500 Rotor?

Thanks for the info dude! The VF500 caliper can fit the F2 rear rotor? What can I do to beef up my front suspension?

Also, where can I purchase an F4 shock that has been "revalved"? What does the revalving entail? Thanks!

    I've been looking......no dice.

I just picked up some great Fairings for my (our) bike/color scheme off Ebay. But so far no slip-on's under VF500's of 500 interceptor.

....and if you find a place that sells the same Tank Honda Wing Decal let me know. (and I Vice Versa)

    Sure, no problems there.

There are a few things you can do. The basic setup is matched springs and RaceTech Gold Valve Emulators. There are more wild things that I can do as well depending on your budget.

Normally you can't just 'buy' a shock like this. You would need to buy a stock shock and send it to me, I can make the appropriate valving modifications. The cost to revalve is $195. This entails replacing the internal piston and setting up the shim stacks for your bike. Most shops charge $300+ for this service, I try to offer it at a discount to help out the older VF guys (and the newer VFR guys too!).

Good to know. $195 is a pretty reasonable price. Can you tell me if the linked item below will work? I see some F4i shocks that are missing a hinged bracket.
    J 2006 Honda CBR 600 F4i Rear Shock:eBay Motors (item 250440756996 end time Jul-08-09 20:27:02 PDT)

On my parts bike, I have a complete Vance and Hines exhaust and the racetech front end. I am figuring since the V&H pipes don't just slip on to my current headers (brackets don't line up), I'll need to grab the V&H headers? Or can I just have a shop weld me a new bracket mount? I wonder what are the detriments are to not using the V&H headers vs just using my stock headers? I assume that I'll need to rejet my carbs. Will I need to buy a jet kit, or can my jets be adjusted from their stock settings with stock parts?

    Thanks!

Sure, that would work fine. Keep in mind that you would have no use for the linkage, so try to get one that includes just the shock itself. Let's try not to clog up this thread too much, shoot me an e-mail at jamie@daughertymotorsports.com when you get a chance.
