Wow that looks excellent. It really looks like a great kit, and well developed. Time to start saving!

See my FAQs page for the answer to that question.

As I've said all along, if there's enough interest in a particular model to warrant production, anything is possible.

"How loud is the supercharger system?

Almost imperceptible. At full tilt there is a slight whistling/whooshing sound generated by the Rotrex, but since there are no gears spinning, there is no whine. The belt cannot be detected, and the only other sounds present are the short pssst of the blow-off valve when letting off the throttle and the sound of air being bypassed through the valve. If you like stealth, this is the system for you. "

I couldn't help myself after reading this and thinking of a re-write something like this:

Almost imperceptible. At full tilt there is a slight whistling/WHOOSHING as the wind is trying to rip your head off when going to WOT, there is no whine, your mouth is stretched to tight. The belt cannot be detected, and the only other sounds present are the short PSSTof you s@%ting your pants after letting off the throttle and the sound of gas being passed by your anus. If you like stealth, this is the system for you.

Sorry, got carried away there. Now can I make it fit an 83?

I had a full-scale aneurysm when I read that the Toro supercharger was completed, and haven't even been able to post because my brain is still too hyperactive.

I wish I'd have done more reading about it sooner, could have started saving earlier!

In the meantime, I'm looking at the expensive and nice things I could sell off to buy it sooner, like my collection of vintage and high end guitars. My soul is crying.

Also that orange color is fantastic and I want it as well. Maybe something a little bit more burnt orange. Creamsicle orange. Wait, that's the wrong way.

    Anyway, HOLY F*$&ING S&#T!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, that is a beautiful kit. Sadly, unless the economy improves I won't even be able to afford one if you get a setup for '07s put together. Would love to have one though.

Nice job Honda should buy these and make it an option from the get go..my concern at the moment is the shaft seal there on the end of the crank after say 20K over all I'd say by the low boost value I saw only 10psi? it shouldn't be all that hard on the internals. Nice job, I too have been following this, good to hear it's out of the box. to bad it's not available for a 4th gen, but yea just the reason to get a project 5th started huh? ;) I am curious to why your version to the oil cooler vs. just making the stock one better? other wise I love this, hats off to you staying the coarse.

Yep. The kits will be shipping out in the next 7-10 days. I'm sure the ride reports & pictures will be posted online once they get the kits installed.

It's really not the power that will kill the drivetrain components -- shock loads and high initial torque values are generally what does a tranny in (neither of which is seen with this kit). At low rpms, little boost is produced, and the power is generated in the smoothest manner possible for forced induction. As long as you shift your bike properly, your tranny should be fine. Don't forget, the VFR800 engine is a close relative of the RC45, which saw 180+hp in racing conditions (I realize it is not the same engine, but the design is very similar and has thus far been bulletproof).

Heavy duty clutch springs are provided with the kit that completely eliminate clutch slippage. Clutch wear should not be any more accelerated than normal since slippage is non-existant.

The crank connector is ground to mate with the bearing in the modified timing cover. We hold the tolerances to within a few tenths, so you don't have to worry about leakage, and the bearings themselves are rated for continuous high-speed, high-load operation, and are packed with special grease and special seals to hold the engine oil in. If the bearing goes bad for some reason, we can easily (and affordably) replace it for you, but it should last for quite a while.

    As for the oil cooler:
    1) After initial research, we found that an increased capacity standard oil/air cooler would actually cool the oil too much during startup and normal operation, thus an oil thermostat would need to be incorporated which would increase the cost, complexity, and space requirements. The Laminova based cooler offers increased cooling capacity and self-regulating oil temps -- that is, your oil heats up faster when your engine is cold, and can never exceed the coolant temperature.
    2) The new kit was designed to accept an intercooler if needed in the future. This means that space would have to be made up front for an additional heat exchanger. The oil/water design of the Laminova cooler allows it to be placed directly in line with the current coolant hose, fitting discreetly in an otherwise empty space. Whether or not an intercooler is ever developed, much space was saved by going to this design.

I have pretty much the same questions. My chief worry is not so much about clutches and trannys but valve stems, really hard to remove bug splatters on my windscreen, and my paste on dayglo plastic mohawk coming loose.

I said it on vfrd too.. this is awesome and would be the sole reason I would upgrade to a 5th gen instead of a 6th when the time comes ( that and still having gear driven cams). I cant wait to see some videos, pics and hear the feedback from ecstatic 5th gen owners... better yet I cant wait to see videos of the look on liter bike guys faces when they get hosed by a VFR *cue evil laughter*

Why the heck are you always such a pessimist man? Any reason? Plus Moto Trannys are one of the most robust and overbuilt components on most bikes. Ride it till it dies, thats what I say

I like this guy! thats the difference between gear heads and regular people ( yes.. im saying gear heads arent regular people :) ) the fun factor always outways the "what-ifs". If we walked around in life wondering "what if " none of us would be on bike anyway, because thats a big what if in itself.
