After doing lot of reading I finally bought EXO700 $150 in red and black.Very sexy
    [IMG]

    1st. fit
Comes real tight.I ordered medium and it fit very tight I mean your cheeks are squeezed for sure.I know from experience that it will mold and slowly break around your head.
    The inside A+
Nice cushy soft fabric and you can take out and wash A+
    2nd
    Viser,fine no problems
    3rd
    Wind noise
Here where this helmet let me down a little. Its noisier then my 12 yr old Shoei
I closed all vents and even going 40+the noise is distinctly there.
There is a large gap under the chin and I tried to close that by my hand while riding and it did quiet down a lot so I suspect the 80% noise is coming from there.
Scorpion sells a chin cover plastic piece that fits there and I hope that does the trick but still I am little dispirited that now I have to always make sure I won't lose that plastic part.

    Noise=C

Overall verdict? Spend little more and get a quieter helmet.

Ive had an EXO-700 for almost 2 years now. Love the fit and finish of it, and for 100 bucks, it was an excellent deal. I do agree that it is noisy though, especially after 2500 miles in 6 days. Might have to look into that chin piece, or those stretch covers that go around the bottom of the helmet and have a hole for your neck.

After 5 day of use I realized that you can't trust all the BS you read on line including users.
Scorpion EXO700 is a fking windmill period!!! It does not matter how it looks or whatever people say! bottom line is my 12 yr old Shoei is still the better helmet!!

I honestly tried to like the helmet but the only way to use now must be with earplugs!!

Save your money and buy Shoei

so how much did you pay for your shoei?

and if your not wearing earplugs you are slowly damaging you ears, even if your helmet is quiet.

    Scorpion 700

I used to have Scorpion 700 (for one season). Very nice helmet. Shortly before I sold it I got that chin spoiler (you can get it on E-bay for $7.99). Get it!. You not gone belive the difference it makes (not only against the noise, but cold as well). Huge improvment. The only think I didn't like about Scorpion is it's weight. Compering to Shoei or Shark it's much heavier. But way cheaper...I like the one you got. I almoust got the same one.

got mine last year for $250. wind noise was terrible but ear plugs solved the problem. compared to my shoei, its heavier but not much. arai is much lighter but heavier on my pocket!

I'm really happy with my Exo-700, I mean when you drop the price by a third as compared to a Shoei or Arai you have to expect a compromise here and there and on that particular helmet noise is a compromise. The chin spoiler makes a big difference, especially for cutting back on the cold air on the face in winter, but also with noise.

Also, if you ride any length on the highway without earplugs in any helmet I wouldn't worry about the noise, you're hearing will be damaged enough soon it wont bother you anymore...

Sorry you are disappointed with your purchase- I feel that hands down there isn't a better helmet for the money. Do Shoei and Arai, and some of the others that live in the $400-$600+ price category make a better helmet? probably in some ways, not necessarily others, but for 2-3 times the cost they should be night and day better but they are only incrementally better so it comes down to personal choice and what's important to you and above all else fit and comfort. I prefer the function/and value offered by Scorpion. If I had a lot more cash in my wallet I would probably buy a Shoei or similar but for the money I think you can't go wrong with a Scorpion.

Here's a great place to read helmet reviews:Motorcycle Clothing, Helmet and Product Reviews - webBikeWorld

And the review for the Exo-700: Motorcycle Clothing, Helmet and Product Reviews - webBikeWorld

    That's my perspective at least

I have the EXO-400, similar to the 700 series and I have to say getting the chin insert will make a big difference. When I first got it I didn't have the chin insert and my eyes were watering nonstop, I even had to make an emergency stop to a store to get some visine.

After getting the chin insert now I can ride without looking like a lady watching a lifetime channel movie.

OK guys I will buy the chin insert and see how that goes.

On ear plugs. The foam ones which expand in your ears is hard to install meaning when I put the helmet they get forced out of my ears from that sliding action. It takes me ten tries to get them in without having them come out.
    Is there a better product?

Sounds like you may need to go up a size or two...
and they do run very small.
seriously. shouldn't be so tight that you shear off your ears everytime you put it on...
i've heard it should be snug but to where you could barely chew gum with it on...
also, my EXO700 didn't loosen up much even at 2 years.

The shells are only 2-3 sizes i think, the difference is the liners are different volumes.
you may want to buy the XL and drop it in there and see how it fits.

once you get the right liner in there, I think you may love the fit...

Have the Scorpion EXO400 and EXO700, love them both.
have owned some pretty spendy lids and these Scorpions are in my opinion a great value.
i even have a pretty impressive get off with a EXO400 and though now retired, it faired well despite dragging my noggin down the highway...

The chin piece makes the difference for me anyway, less wind noise and less turbulence inside the helmet.

at any rate, the best helmet is the one that works best for you...

I've used cheap foam ear plugs and they come off when I put on the helmet.

No such problems with the Howard Leight Max ear plugs. NRR 33 rating and a box of 200 is around $25.

The product is OK. The user doesn't know how to use it...Read the manual...

My wife has trouble with the foam plugs- she just doesn't get them rolled up and inserted in far enough so they come out, but then she can't seem to figure out how to put her Exo-700 on without folding her ears over on themselves either so maybe they just stick out a bunch...

you need to pull up on your ear, straightening the canal, then insert the plugs

    folding ears

the same thing also happened to me when i put on my helmet. a balaclava can help keep her ears in place when its cold but during summer, she's gonna sweat a lot. next option after she dons her helmet would be to lift it slightly as if she were removing it then rotate it front to back until her ears unfolds.

regarding the foam plugs, roll or sqeeze it and insert as far as it can enter then as it expands, push the remaining foam toward the ear lobes for a snug fit. hope this helps.

We solved the ear plug thing- I put them in her ears now- she has an ear canal that makes a 90 deg. bend like immediately after entering her dome so it makes sense why she was struggling but I'm able to get them in there ok. Can't help with her hair gettin' tangled tho.

I'v had two 400s for over two years. Wind sucks - yes (I'll try the spoiler - thanks for the reccomendations!). I never had trouble with the foam ear plugs - soft or hard. You either need to roll then tighter and insert them further into the ear or your helmet is too tight.

I've have the Scorpion exo 700 helmet also and when I ordered mine I had them include the chin air spoiler. I know this cuts down the air noise and swirl quite a bit. I'm having a hard time remembering how much becuase I haven't ridden without it since it was new. I think the remaining noise is tolerable though and since I haven't had the luxury of a Shoe or Ari yet my head doesn't know the differance....
