That's the first time I've ever seen it, but I'd say the squids in Delaware will be picking those pens up very soon.

The ONLY bike I can see these used on is Stoshmonsters Jokermobile.

IMO that is one of the most worthless aftermarket gimmicks I've seen in years.

Just my opinion, nothing more or less.

That would be a nice add on to a scented tire such as strawberry or lavendar especially if the tire makes a matching colored smoke.

I don't think anyone was trying to attack you brother. I just think this is one of those 'products' that has motorcyclists thinking WTH? and whats the point (WTP)?

I've seen these used before. A few years ago Ducati had a contest for the most unique Ducati Monster. One guy's bike was painted up like a tiger with orange and black tiger stripes covering the bodywork. He painted all the grooves in his tires with orange paint pens similar to this Volks6000. It looked cool and fit the theme of the bike perfectly, but keep in mind that was on a pure show bike. Not jacking your thread Volks6000,but I'd like to speak to Bubba Zanetti for just a moment please.

Bubba,we actually looked into and then rejected the idea of using paint pens on the tires of my bike. It would've given us an opportunity to add more color to the bike, but the highest priority with all my bikes is safety and reliability. I had the same reservations as Emon07 about that paint affecting the tire grip so I passed on the idea,my bike is a rider not a show bike. If you've seen my bike pics and looked closely at the word Nissin on my front brake calipers, you'll notice that each letter is painted a different color. Periodically I have to get down there and touch-up that paint. I originally wanted to paint all the raised lettering on the tire sidewalls as well with different color paint pens. But my buddy Pez pointed out that I'd have to similarily maintain that tire paint, because with all the fine detail on my bike any flaw would be magnified. He was right, why make more work for yourself. That's time spent in the garage when I could be out riding.

    Stosh:

I didn’t mean to implicate your bike is a ‘squid’ bike. I stated I could see them used on your bike because of the wild paint scheme and the coloring of the tread would match the bike. Nothing more.

OUTSIDE of your paint scheme, I see very little use for these pens except the “look at me I am cool” and do burnouts at the local Wawa, Dairy Queen squid hangout.

I should have been more clear, my apologies.

good eye there. it is nice of you to share something you found with our viffer community. it just shows that there are creative people out there "inventing" anything to put on a bike or car to make a buck! that would look good on a "show" bike.

Bubba: No apologies necessary my friend,I understood exactly what you meant when you spoke about my bike. I took no offense to what you said.

I certainly meant no offense to you as well. With out the inflection this darned Internet always seems to skew the intent of the message. I just wanted to say to you that in their element, meaning show bikes, paint pens could be a useful tool for creativity. I'm not so sure as to their use for the street though, but than to each his own I guess.

Sorry for the misunderstanding Bubba. Stosh.
