Mt. Rainier Rd Trip "Taste of Mt. Rainier" Official Thread

Sadly I won't be able to make this ride since I have some Washington boyz coming to stay at my house at the end of June to ride Northern California, but I'm 100% in for any ride you guys come up with in 2010 since were trading off every other year between states.

The only thing I don't miss about Washington are the Staters, I tried to be cautious while riding in Washington but still ended up paying enough in lawyer fee's to buy Randy & Michael new PClll's, Today I was clocked going 78 in a 65 on 101 on my way to Legget and the CHP didn't even give me a second look, the difference in Wa & CA is if I get a ticket in CA I think it will be well deserved, I never had that feeling in WA...

 

I vote for Norcal rd trip next:thumbsup: isn't that where all the best Rd's truly are .
Ya i got a ticket in Kitsap last fall for going 5miles per hr over speed limit.

 

i would think we would have to leave @ a reasonable time no later then 9am
how long would it take you to ride to Leavenworth?

for any other riders from Seattle that may be interested we could meet you in marblemount just past rockport on first day. we met a few riders last yr from Seattle on Winthrop ride there, they rd up hwy 530.

Badbilly marblemount is the last place to get gas before heading over the pass next gas station is just east of Winthrop.

 

I will call them again in the morning and challenge them on this. Initially they took my reservation but literally seconds later, another woman called me back to say they did not book for less than two days.

Anone else out there who doesn't fart louder than me who wants to share a room....separate beds of course.

 

Sorry guys it is a race weekend. I will be wishing I was cruzin the twisties with you all rather than pushing, sliding and shitting my pants on the track for sure.

I'm in for sure. Now just to get a room. Will sleep outside if I have to. Done that before but that was usually preceeded with a good 26er of Rye Whiskey and Pepsi. But of course I don't do that anymore.

We still have only got four going? Where are all the other pansies? Mama must have them baking pies and planting flower gardens.......not that there is anything wrong with that.

Maybe you should grab that room across the street. The one I booked has only one bed so bunking up is not an option!

I'll sleep in de mittengrabben or whatever the ?>!# it's called. Better to get the rooms and cancel then sleep under your bike.

Looks like a nice ride. I just took Rosie (my 4th gen) up the old mountain loop to monte cristo last weekend. Still a lot of snow at the top.

 

I just checked the toll free number for Quality Inn Suite. They confirm they will not book one night only. Guess you must have booked before they made this rule. Seems the whole industry there is a scam.

They seem to have losts available. You guys can decide if you are going to stay where you are or join me. Nothing is too far from each other in Leavanworth anyways. I have a double queen room so if any late comers surface in need of a room who want to share the $155.19 costs, you are welcome. Just let me know

I'm just north of Seattle about 30 miles. I'd like to try and meet you guys on 20 someplace. Maybe right where hwy 9 and 20 cross? or where 530 and 20 meet.

I did a week in the Sierra's and just slept next to the bike in camp areas. It was great!

Some of those gas stations aren't always open. The one in Concrete has always been open when I was there at least in the daytime. Also there is gas in Winthop and East in Twisp.

The splab motels in most of those Eastern Washington towns are mostly fairly new and on the main drag. If ya don't need tucking in, a waterbed with a vibrator, cable or Wi-fi try to find the old main drag for better rates. Also the restaurants usually suck in the "better" motels. Best bet in Eastern Wa is pubgrub.

 

BadBilly i think its safe to assume those stations will be open Saturday morn.


Phildo and badbilly and any other US riders that wanna join us. i suggest we meet in Marblemount theres 2 gas stations one with a big red caboose thats where we should meet up with you guys cant miss it. we should be there between around 10:30 depending on boarder line ups.
