Obtained a pair of these last week for $65 + shipping.

    Fit:

I am 5'9" with medium build. The leg protectors fit well. There are 3 velcro straps for the lower leg and one additional strap that wraps behind the knee. When in place, the lower ends hover a few inches above my ankle. I wear high top work boots. I am able to tuck the bottom portion of the protector into my boot while lacing up around it. The knee section articulates well for a confortable fit. I have strapped these on in the morning and have kept them on under my jeans all day which, are not noticeable unless you are squatting.

    On the bike;

They feel good while on the bike, they feel good when riding. I have to back my bike a long way out of my garage. I noticed my inner calf area knocks the pegs a little from the extra girth these protectors add as I paddle backwards but that's it.

The protectors stayed in place very well throughout the day. While they have vent holes in many places, my legs were definitely a little warmer with these on. Perhaps wearing them with shorts will provide ventilation.

Getting up from a seated position several times caused no unacceptable movement. The lowest velcro strap closest to my ankle has too much slack to allow for a tight enough adjustment. The separate, but attached knee guard always seems to stay in place when moving.

    Overall:

I purchased these so I could immediately add some protection to my shin/knee area without having to shell out for an armored pair of $$ riding pants. I have no clue how they will perform in a fall, but feel a little better dressed for that crash.

Anyone shorter from the knee to the ankle then me may find them a little cumbersome with anything other than low top shoes. When standing and barefoot, from the top of my knee to the floor is 22". If you have already spent $$ on riding boots I would recommend that you try these on first to make sure they will fit.

    Hope this was useful!

You're joking right? There are so many ways that this is a bad idea.

You're right KC....While these protectors may ventilate well while riding with shorts, I, in no way, advocate operating a motorcycle without the necessary protective gear...

    Word.

I am deeply jealous that you live in Western NC. They would never be able to get me to come to work. So many roads to ride...

I too own these Icon leg guards. I wear them under my Shift Kevlar jeans. Fit well, comfortable, and effective. I particularly bought them so that i can ride to more causal spots and just take them off, while having more impact protection than most riding pants anyways, outside of leathers.

P.S. I have wrecked in these with almost no damage to them and myself. Well worth the money.

I have a different take. Nice design IMO but...

I bought a pair of these used (worn only a couple times) online a couple years ago. My legs aren't fat but kind of muscular. I could barely get the Velcro straps around my legs and to fasten properly. And when I did they were so tight they were very uncomfortable. I ended up selling them to someone else.

My advice would be to try them on in person before buying a set, esp. if you don't have thin or average legs.

Looks like im the opposite. My legs are so thin that i have trouble keeping them from riding down. Fixxed issue by stitching some of the strap up to make is shorter.

Have these too. They're great under riding jeans to give additional protection. Only issue is they they have a tendency to slowly slide down the leg as there is no strap above the knee.

I have a pair, too, and I wear them under my Icon Recon pants. From a couple of hundred thousand miles of bicycling, I have pretty big calves, and the middle strap is a challenge, but using the top one above my calf keeps the guards up just fine. I've done serial 500 mile days with them, and though they might require some adjustment during the day for comfort, they don't shift enough to compromise their protection. And on hot days I think they actually deflect some of the engine heat.
