I just bought the bike .So I don`t know how long they were on .But when I replaced the front today .I noticed the pads on the right side of the bike .Where about 65% the left side were at about 25% .Is this normal ?

    I made the same observation...

Must have something to do with the linked brakes on the left side...

    What gen?

I'd check the rotors for uneven wear, as well. The rotors on these bikes are prone to warping under heavy use. If the right rotor were warped, the pads wouldn't wear down as fast on that side.

If the rotor looks line, I'd check the caliper pistons. The right side piston(s) may need a cleaning.

No warping or odd actuation on my bike - just a difference in pad wear although not as pronounced as pfbmgd's... I am all too familiar with Disk Thickness Variation (DTV) and Rotor Total Indicated Runout (TIR)...

Remember that the left caliper is also actuated with the rear brake pedal if you still have the linked brake plumbing.

I know this is an old thread, but it is what popped up first in my search. I can understand the difference in wear between the left and right pairs of pads, but today when I went to change the left front, inside pad (not against pistons) worn significantly more than than the other (one against pistons). Anybody else had this happened?

Calipers need to be rebuilt. You have sticking pistons.

Not sticky pins and slides? They were pretty gunked up. Cleaned and lubed with Permatex anti-seize grease. Put new EBC HH pads in. Stops alot better. I will keep close eye on wear patterns, old pads were nearly gone. I was able to compress pistons to install new pads, didn't seem sticky.

I think you've done exactly the right thing. If the pistons were your problem they'd cause drag on both pads whereas if the pins are not moving easily they'd cause more wear on one pad.
