I love old bikes, especially Hondas. Thats why I owned a 1980 CB750F and currently an 86 VF500F. I love my little Interceptor but ive been looking for a more sport-touring bike, like my friend's 1980 GS850. So I really dig the Sabres and wouldnt it be badass if Honda brought back this bike or a model similar? Think of it, there is no bike like it even being made today. The VFR's are close but more sport than comfort (my neck and shoulders cant handle that riding position for more than 2 hours and I know my passenger would feel worse) and they are chain drive. An upright position, shaft drive, real handlebar, naked, V4 Japanese bike is what Id love to see on the showroom floor.

Had a 85 Sabre 700 for a few months last year until I got the 6th gen. I really liked that old bike. Good stuff for the mid 80s.

I had an old 700 Sabre for a while - nice bike - until the engine ate itself. But looking forward the VFR is superior in every way.

wow!! that bike is gorgeous. The fairing is smooth. Ya know, when i went to buy my CB750F a few years ago, the guy had a red one JUST like that in his garage for sale. But I wasnt interested at the time. I only wanted the CB. Damn, if only i could go back.
Id like to see Honda take the new VFR engine and make a modern interpretation of the Sabre. A bike that can ride 2 up comfortably for hundreds of miles, and then 1 up on a twisty road.

The bike looked a little bit rougher in person, but for being 24 years old, it was in damn good shape. Started my love for the V4, thats for sure. One thing I loved about that old bike was the factory gear indicator. You sure do get lazy when you have one of those.

ya know, with the V-Max reborn and the B-King coming out of Suzuki, it would be a good time for Honda to re-introduce a muscle bike competitor.

I had an '83 V45 Sabre. Nice bike, but it was too topheavy. Give me a VFR any day.

I had an '84 V65 Sabre. I bought it used at a dealer. I did not even care much for the way it looked. My Dad called from the dealer and said that I had to come hear the bike. I was sold when they cranked the V4. At the time, all I knew was that it was a pretty fast bike. I later sold it to buy a boat (which I sold within a year). A couple of years later I got the itch to ride again and started looking at Honda's web site. There was a section with landmark Hondas listing the very bike I ditched for a "hole in the water" boat. I've never been able to find one since that was anywhere close to the condition mine was in.
