A friend of mine in Santa Barbara got sent back over seas with the Air Force...right before the fires started. So his pregnant wife and little daughter had to deal with that by themselves.
    Thank God for small blessings.

    KC,

Knocking the bike over, that is the worst!
We all feel your pain LOL, (who would say stupid stuff like that?)
Life is a circle things go around good and bad.
We all have our days or weeks.
Optimism is the key. If you are having a bad day, week , month, or year.
the alternative is to not have one at all. much worse. Being dead sucks more.
Life is short, don't sweat the small shit,
and it is all small shit
hell, You could be a somalian pirate.
    that would really suck.
So hang in, there help is on its way.

    POKERPLAYER6989,
What year and model is your bike?
    pic looks like a 86-87 VFR700/750.
If it is I believe I have a speedo cable that you may have
for freeeeee. just cover the shipping costs if you want.

Dang KC, I dito all the above, thanks for letting me know my life ain't so bad now after reading all this. Truly know how ya feel, we have a saying around this house, "if it weren't for bad luck we wouldn't have any". Gee has the dog ate any thing that it shouldn't have? or the cat got sick? or lost. hows the kids? how old is the roof. when you go shopping for the dryer (Lowes has some good prices, don't ask how I know) get the one you like. the list is plenty long, hang in there.

Hey you coulda had a 3 week long oil change like I did... along with the cancer scare with my wife, and the optical surgery scare with me...

We're out close to $3000 in doctor bills, on top of the $300 in parts for my "oil change" on the VFR, this month... only to have the Doctors tell my wife that she's SEVERELY anemic and they don't know why, and I'm getting double vision and they don't know why...

Sorry about the luck... I've been there

The final blow of my week from hell was just delivered 2 days ago. I will not be able to attend the track day I've been planning for for nearly 2 months. Bubba Zanneti will be pissed. I'll just have to wait a few more weeks/months to show him how Jersey guys drive.

I would like to thank everyone for the kind replies. I fully realize all of this stuff is relatively minor in the grand scope of things. All things considered, it could be much, much worse & I realize that & I'm thankful for the things I do have & cherish.

Finally, I will end this on a very, very positive note. The old saying goes, "Every cloud has a silver lining". I just got my silver lining & it's pretty freaking shiny. I was notified today that I have been selected to promotion to Master Sergeant or E-7. Trust me when I tell you, this was a nice way to pick up my spirits.

If when you say "bike mods", you mean a new bike for the Wife, then yes, I will spend the new $$$ on bike mods.

Congrats on E-7!!! If your career field is anything like mine, you're destined to be electronically handcuffed to your desk for the rest of your career. I didn't try to make it this year, as I want my damn degree finished (4 classes to go)!!! I plan on studying hard once my degree is finished, and we just got in the new and improved (yeah, right) PDG's...
