    Wow looks fantastic
Took a test ride which took like half an hour.I am sure seller was nervous but I could not help it.The bike feels so much lighter then actual weight. For all I've read I expected a heavy handling bike.Nope! It carved corners beautifully, great breaks, shifted silky smooth.
I bought it without any reservation after testing the R/R and it read 13.9-14 at idle so healthy and no burn wires.
What can I say I am speechless. This bike is much more then all the bikes I had before.
It has 20k miles but felt like new! New tires, new chain paid 3500:biggrin:

I am very happy to be part of VFR world:thumbsup:

The only weird thing is to me at least is shifter is way farther where it should be and I am size 12.I found my foot literary missing the shifter. Is there a longer shifter that I can mod?
    from another bike even.

Congrats, that's the fastest year of all the VFR's, and best looking too!

Is the shifter original? What's the length?

Shifter is 5" long and gap between footrest and shifter is 4.5 inches.I don't know if this is VFR thing stock or modifies.I know that it is unnaturally further away from the footrest.

Can someone confirm this measurements please?Stock or not? Thank you

Guys I apologize in my excitement I typed 1999 its actually 1998 RED
I am relived that 4.5 " is stock and it is stock.I have to unlearn old habits. My last bike was SV650 and shifter was lot closer.

I will post picks when I wash this baby and all shiny up! Thanks for replys.I love this community which is pretty similar to SV community.

Awesome dude, compared to the SV650 the VFR is a rocket. With the R/R issues I recommend getting the VFRness from wiremybike.com I have that on my bike and have no issues the past 30K miles.

To help with the handling you might want to pull the forks up 10 mm as well as upgrade to some sportier tires such as the metzeler sporttec m3s. I just did those as well and the handling is much better!

    Looking forward to the pictures!

Not a hard install at all, yes it comes with instructions. You just disconnect the R/R connection and plug it into the VFRNess and connect wires to battery. It's a pretty straightforward install.

That would bypass 30amp fuse. The logic behind is beefier heavier gouge wires correct? I can certainly do that.I thought it was more extensive job.
    Thanks
    I will put an order.
Just a thought yellow goes to positive battery and green goes to negative battery or frame bolt for earth.

Good move, went from an SV650S to VFR early '04 and found while the VFR was probably less fun through my favourite close by twisties it was still lighter handling than it looked, handled mid corner ripples and bumpy roads better and much more comfortable over distances which is what wanted from the VFR when upgrading from the SV.

As I've always known & I'm sure you've found out, VFR's freaking rule. Yellow is the fastest color but red will due in a pinch. Enjoy.

    KC-10 FE out...
