I had full intentions of making a post tomorrow to say "I'm in", but my wife had to leave the country unexpectedly. That leaves me with 2 kids, and therefore this weekend not looking too promising. Sorry - although I'm sure life can go on without me!

Hawks Nest is a nice ride, by the way. I've done it solo, and would love the company of some fellow viffers one day.

Does anyone have a red VFR that parks it in new brunswick? I saw one parked near an apartment building on Neilson.

Hawks Nest is an area north of Port Jervis. (My computer skills aren't great, but try this link). Hawks Nest in Autumn or http://www.portjervisny.com/hawks_nest_in_spring.htm Same road, different view.

Of course, there's a hundred different ways to probably get there. My favorite happens to be going through Sussex county, NJ. Once you get in the general area of High Point State Park, there's some nice roads. If you want to try and Google some maps to view roads, you can look at attractions such as High Point and Space Farms.

There are roads on both sides of the Delaware River (NY and PA). The ones in NY are "scenic" once you get past Hawks Nest, but not all that challenging. Its more of a relaxing ride.

I'm not familiar with the PA side.

I don't have a GPS on my ride, but I'd be willing to go up there someday and just get lost.

Ah, lucky man. It's hard to ditch the wife and kids for a half a day - especially a holiday weekend. Still waiting to get my lid back before committing to a date. Hope to get a resolution in the next day or two. As soon as I get it back we'll post something up.

Camping w/MC's at Wadding Pines CG this w/e. Chatsworth area on RT 563. Couple bike friendly B+G's in that area [Heger House is one] The roads have almost no cars on em out here. Great riding roads. Kinda straight but hardly any coppers.

My Wife is in the market for a new bike. Not a single dealer in the state will let us test ride a bike.

I don't suppose there is a 6th Gen owner in Central NJ (near McGuire AFB) that would let a red head German girl ride test ride their bike? I don't care if you're near KWRI, we're willing to ride a bit if necessary. We are willing to "rent" the bike if necessary. PM me if this is a possibility.

You would get to ride a red 89 Hawk GT in the deal.

KC-10: No dealer will let you demo even if you show up on a bike? That's pretty f'ed. I wouldnt bother with the dealer.
There is a honda dealer in Edison that I've heard let you demo.

KC - I gave my dealer a call Three Bridges, New Jersey, E-Ton America, Honda, Kymco, Suzuki, ATV, Motorcycle, Scooter, UTV, Dealer, Used, Parts, Accessories

Basically, in the wonderfully litigious state we live in, the lawyers and insurance companies can/would have a field day in the event that something went "wrong" on a demo ride.

That being said, here were their comments in a nutshell: They have allowed demo rides, and would consider allowing them again based on the right criteria, including:
    1. The person arrives on a bike, and can obviously produce a valid license
    2. The person generally seems trustworthy.
    3. If you were trading a bike in, they are more inclined to allow a demo ride.
    4. They did say that most of their sport bikes (liter) are off limits.

Of course, meeting the above doesn't guarantee that demo ride. I'm just the messenger.

When I started my search for another bike 2 years back, these guys are far and away better than any other dealer I've ever dealt with. They're about 40 miles from where I live, and I could have easily gone with a closer place, but I really felt they were that much better than everyone else.

The owners are Dick and Moe. My salesman was Art.

I'm sure a quick phone call to them could give you a better idea.

    Good luck.

Hello I am in NYC and ride to different States. I ride to NJ during the summer and go down to Sandy Hook and Gunnison Beach. Love doing the Roar to the Shore in Sept. Let me know if anyone is interested - I do not waste my time going to Bear Mountain because there is nothing there and if I go to the Poconos it is to go to the track or else a waste of time and gas.

I've never heard of this place but it's in the general area that I normally ride so I have no problem checking them out. Normally, I like to purchase vehicles from local places. For a motorcycle, I wouldn't have a problem buying a bike from a place that far away from where I live. It all depends on the dealer.

The problem I have is no one is going to give me anything more than $500 for the Hawk GT. There is no freaking way I'm trading it for a measly $500. I can easily get $3000 if I sell it.

I'm right on the border of Somerset and Morris counties...we'll have to organize a ride sometime  If anybody wants to get together shoot me a pm or email me at sullivanbp@hotmail.com.

I grew up here, and just moved back after living california for a few years. I've never had a bike while living here, so I'm looking for some twisties...highways and local streets are getting boring really fast.

According to the Weather Channel, the outlook for June 6th and 7th is supposed to be pretty nice.

I'm not great on organizing, but we have all this talk and no planned rides! :)

I'm open to suggestions for either day and a place to meet.

I'll check back later/tomorrow and will give my suggestions on some meeting places.

    Anyone in?
