WOW, really glad to hear you're OK! Why is it that Ontario seems to have such a huge majority of $hit drivers? I almost got it twice last nite on a short 100 k cruise. Rock the gear !!

Very lucky! I was rearended on my ZX-6R 3 years ago from a van doing 40mph. Broke my lower left leg(both bones straight thru), my right thumb in 3 places, and my jaw in 2. 1 month in the hospital and 4 months out of work. Glad you are ok.

The frame was broken on the right side below the seat. There is a bolt located there and that is where the break occured. The mechanic at the dealership spotted it within the first minute of examining the bike and said that it could not be repaired, it was a write off. The impact was pretty substantial and you can see in the pictures in my gallery the twist in the back of the bike. Debating on getting a YELLOW VRF or a Honda ST1300. Dealing with the insurance company now.

I sure hope you have had a full recovery. We certainly know how lucky we were. The car that hit us was a Saturn Ion which has a fairly low bumper. You could clearly see by the impact on the front of the car that he hit the back tire of the VFR first and I truly believe this helped by acting as a bumper to lessen the impact. We were also just starting to roll as the light had just turned green. I can see how a van would be a completely different situation and trust me, we have had that thought running through our minds since the accident. Thanks for your wishes. Considering what you experienced, we are certainly fine. How did you break your jaw? Were you wearing a full face helmet?

Yes I was wearing a full face helmet. I guess what happened was that as I flew into the intersection, I landed on my chin and the helmet pushed up a bit. I have a nice little scar when I hit the road. Also it looked the like van hit the bike towards the left side, which is why my leg was broken. I would say that Im 98% of what I was before the accident. Im lucky to still have my leg, which the doctors werent so sure about back then, but it has healed up nicely, with some big skin grafts. Overall I can't complain, I can walk, run, ride a bike, and only sometimes do I get sore in my leg.

Wow, sorry to hear about your crash! Glad to hear that you are healing up and looking at a new bike :)!

Sometimes the cages do things that are just unavoidable. I totaled my 599 on Monday when someone ran a _red_ (not pink, not yellow) light right in front of me.
