You know, the ones destined to make you consume large amounts of alcohol and/or ruin your bank account?

Without even a remote exaggeration, over the last 4 days, the following has taken place, in chronological order:

    1) Fridge doesn't cool anymore/food is going bad = $700 (yes it's a small fridge, we have a tiny kitchen, be here tomorrow morning)

    2) Lawn mower quit = $240

    3) Garden hose spigot leaked & partially flooded my garage = $75

    4) New tires for the VFR = $310

    5) Knocked the VFR onto myself in the garage = Scratched my Special-Ed-Short-Bus-Bar-Ends, scratched the right side engine case, scratched the main right side fairing, sprained my wrist & crushed a toe

    6) Dryer doesn't heat (& no one can find my model # in any catalog so I can't order a new heating element) = $400 possible up to $1000

    7) Laptop doesn't work anymore = $400 possible up to $900

So, in 4 days, my bank account has been depleted by AT LEAST $2125. The voices have nearly been silenced by the Quinto Da Porto tawny port & Erdinger weizen beer. I REALLY want to break something. I'm thinking of taking the broken laptop to the gun range & putting .357 Mag hollow points thru it. The worst part of all this is I haven't even had the chance to test ride my new Pirelli's.

    Isn't life fun?

With that lucky streak, I'd stay away from the gun for a bit.

Whats wrong with the computer? Might be better off just replacing a part or two inside.

Thought my whole life was like that. You have only a week? Sorry to hear about the bad run though - likely it means a real good run coming up soon. Personally, if money were the issue, I would get the tires for the VFR first,... let my food go bad, get a cheap laptop off Ebay, go to the laundromat and let the lawn die.

I hear your pain! My overall luck hasn't been quite as bad as yours, but the last two weeks have definitely drained my account as well...

    1) My fridge also went out for the 3rd time in 9 years. Called on April 30th, part to be replaced today - $130.

    2) Dishwasher went out - $500

    3) Helped some friends move their camping trailer, and when parking it, I turned too sharp and mangled my bumper - no estimate yet.
The following I consider good luck, but a drain nonetheless.
    1) "New" '90 CBR600, "stolen" from work for $300

    2) Parts (and shop manual) needed to get CBR streetable - $120

    3) Previously ordered tachometer (for testing purposes) finally arrived - $300.

It can only get better once you're at the bottom, right???

In what kind of shape is the hot water heater and the HVAC system? Hope the answer is "excellent".

To me, the single worst part was knocking the VFR over. Now, my (up to this point) pristine VFR has scratches that I can't blame on someone else. That does not make me happy.

The new fridge was delivered 10 minutes ago. It fits in the space with 1/8" to spare.

Don't worry, the hot water heater blew up when I was deployed. The Wife was without hot water for 4 days before my Uncle (Master Plumber for over 40 years) had it switched out in about 2 hours.

The HVAC is 3 years old & we have a service contract.

I'm off to go dryer shopping. Men are supposed to shop for stuff like lawn mowers, gun cabinets, motorcycle tires, etc... Not clothes dryers. Should I wear a pink polo with a popped collar, a sweater tied around my neck, go by "Chip" & refer to the Wife as "Pookums"?

    LOL!

    Life is 'blessed' KC.

Yes, it sucks, but you have:

Scratches on your bike, now nothing else will happen! Shows you use it.

New tires fo track day action!

New hot water heater, you now have 6-10 years before you need a new one.

New dryer, see above about water heater.

HVAC system, piss on that thing and go naked in the heat!

Lawn mower bad? go to a garage sale and get one for 30 bucks!

Sit back and enjoy your tawny port knowing "all is vanity and striving after wind".

    Bubba Z's got your back!

Things could quite easily be worse. The thing that makes is so bad for me is I have OCD. ANYTHING that is not just as I want it to be will drive me freaking nuts.

Why would you need to heat hot water?

To add insult to injury, the toilet stopped working today. Luckily, this is a cheap fix, only $20.

The second worse thing about the whole thing is the fact that I just paid my CC off entirely, last Thursday. They owed me $200. Not any freaking more. Now, the balance is back up to nearly $1500.

    KC,

I am down right proud of you doing your part to stimulate the economy in these bad times.

But I hear your pain and have been there myself. But now everything I have is new or near new. And I don't owe anyone sqat.

Dude...sorry to hear of your problems. At least you weren't TDY or deployed. Crap, well the worst of it always seems to happen to my wife when I'm away. It doesn't help that I'm not gone as often as you are. As far as the scratches on the VFR, I look at it like this, they add to the beauty and personality of our bikes. At least your drinking good beer in the Erdinger, I still have 7 cases of Heineken brown bottle to consume before I think about getting any Erdinger.
