    Sloiv?

Great pictures. I won't ever get over not going. I'll just keep coming back here until the next one.

Did anyone find the Fred Merkel post interesting? Perhaps it doesn't go here, but I thought all you Interceptor fans would appreciate that story. Here's a link to a pretty good video circa 1986 about the interceptor and Fred Merkel. Toecutter, don't you have a RWB '86 as well as your '07? I had and raced my '86 FZ750 like the one Lawson races in the video. Fred Merkel - Google Video

Keep me posted on the next gathering.

there's been some talk of one goin down in Sep. Hard to say just yet, though. I have a lot on my plate right now and it's gonna be hard to top the last one. We pretty much had it all. I am still coming up with ideas. My son will graduate this month and he wants to be here for the next one. He's hoping for a late summer get together. My wife gave me the ok for Sep but no sooner. Still have work and those kind of details to look at, too.

Sorry Reg but one a year is about all I can handle. Looking forward to next year....hopefully when it is warmer though. My butt has all done healed now. Just turned 70,000 km last night coming home form work. Not too shabby for an 06. Lets see how many miles I can put on this thing before it gives up the ghost.

Hey! Is anyone going to Laguna Seca for the MotoGP? I am definitely going. Reg, got room on the lawn in a tent for racefans?

On another note, and speaking of Yosemite (flailer/scubalong) I've been conjuring up an idea...not to try to even come close to a SLOIII, but what do you think about this? I live in Sonora in the Sierra Mountains and there is beautiful mountain scenery and some of the best roads in the US right here. Quaint little Gold Rush era towns with delicious cafe's, coffee houses and saloons. I live on two acres and there is plenty of room for anyone who wants to come and camp out/ride/kickback/etc.

If anyone is interested, we could plan a gathering and use my place as home base for some High Sierra mountain pass rides. Up over Tioga Pass with a stop in Yosemite, on to Mono Lake and up 395 and back over Sonora Pass. Spend the night, then the next day we could go up over Ebbet's Pass to 395 and back over Highway 88 after a good soak in the natural hot spring pool in MarkleeVille, then back to Sonora. That would be four times over the Sierras from one side to the other. Plenty of places to take pictures, grab some grub, have a cup of Joe and some incredible twisty roads. If you haven't seen the view of the YosemiteValley floor from the lookout, you will never forget it. Do a search here of "Sonora Pass, California" and zoom out in increments to see what I'm talking about.

    Google Maps

So, if anyone is willing, anytime between mid-may when the passes open (snow is plowed) and late October is fine with me. My property is leveled and tree covered so there's lots of room for tents, hammocks, cots and even sleeping bags under the stars. If you don't mind chickens running around, horses neighing, pigs chortling, roosters crowing, birds chirping, crickets, frogs and the sound of V-Fours!

And if anyone wants to just get away for a weekend and do some great riding, let me know and we'll set it up. I'd love to have some Interceptor company. Really, I can't overstate all that there is to see and do in this area. If anyone has been here, you know what I'm talking about. We can even take out the Malibu (it seats 13 adults) and do some wakeboarding and tubing on New Melones Reservoir (4th largest in the state).

Kick around the idea. Either for a gathering, or as individuals, you're all welcome anytime...(Toecutter, Drewl, Bweiss, Otherbubba: you guys are just next door...come on down!)

Hey, I was thinking of going to Laguna Seca. I know a couple groups from here might be going... if any of you are going, let me know, we should all try to connect while we're out there.

That's mighty generous of you sixweeds!! I will keep you in mind and if we don't have a huge VFRW ride at your place (I'm sure we will though) you can bet there will come a time when I will take you up on your offer. Are non-VFR riders allowed on your property? :)
