I find that sometimes after I exit the hwy or after a good spirited ride...when I come to a stop the bike will occasionally rev high at idle.

I'll be sitting there and watching the RPM's around 3,000-2,000.

Usually a quick "blip" of the throttle brings it back down to around 1,500...but it eventually creeps its way back up.

I had the Carbs synch'd while in storage. The guy who did it said he got them as close as he could with a bike this old with this many KM's.

    (1986 Honda Interceptor. 45,000kms)

Bike still runs strong and pulls hard. Just the occasional idle issue and a Choke lever that performs more like an ON-OFF Switch.

Doesn't feel like a stuck throttle.

    Any ideas? (don't mention seafoam)

A little silick fiddy will fix that right up!

Seriously though, you may want to have the carbs rebuilt, or have the fuel system checked. If it's not a sticking throttle control, it may be a throttle return spring problem.

I used sea foam last season and it found a weak spot in my tank and caused a leak so I try and stay away from it now.

So we are leaning towards a vaccum/air leak somewhere in the Carb areas?

I had the bike at a shop....he noticed my Throttle cable was taught and had no slack.

He had the thought that maybe when the bike warms up the cable starts to pull a little.

I need to bring it back when I have a sec and he's going to adjust everything.

    Nice guy.
