oil temp gauge?

    First time I've seen one for VFR's.

    Which keads me to ask why the hell would someone put one on their VFR? They are liquid cooled and have oil coolers.

    I guess they are used for testing?

    I have often wondered how accurate they actually were....I would think that the reading would be somewhat anamolous, as it wouldn't actually be touching the oil.........:confused:

    Agreed there - how can it give a good reading if it is not "in" the oil. Seems like a good setup would have to be in line, maybe around the oil cooler exit?
    Then you have to figure a resonable mount for the thing. -- I think I would want more of a smaller digital readout.

    You know oil temp is something I have wondered about - the 5th gen is a 2 row cooler and the 6th is a 3 row. (Veefer800canuck added a 3 row to his 5th) Things that make you go - hmmmm...

    For the moment - ignorance is bliss...:wink:
