I think all the hype is BS. They did the same thing with SARS and it turned out to be nothing. Just like the bird flu that was going to be the end of the world.

just in now 149 dead since i typed this 3 hours ago nine more people died asia russa europe scanning all planes from america or mex-america .. seems as though the rest of world except middle east? is finding this..but us doesn't close borders and stop travel good job homeland security..

 

another media hype, the bird flu didn't pan out so they need you to concentrate on another earth shattering disease, yes 140 dead sad yes but not devastating by any extent of the imagination.

 

The Spanish Flu of 1918 infected approx half the worlds then 1.8 Billion then population and killed between 20 to 100 million of which curiously a large number of which were young healthy adults. Still the main populations survived to continue growing to overpopulate this world over and over again which is the real cause of the worlds current problems.

 

Did some reading on the pandemic of 1918 earlier this year. It seems that another one is as inevitable as the boom-and-bust business cycle. Is this swine flu the next big one? We'll see. It doesn't look as lethal as the 1918 flu just yet. (People died so quickly and in such numbers that they couldn't be buried properly, just dumped in mass graves...in the United States.) Regardless, we don't have much control over it. Myself, I'll save my worrying for things I can influence.

If there is one thing that I have learned in the past little while it's the media can not be trusted for the reality and totality of events that their conveying. I've seen it with my own eyes. Our media up here is close to being useless, they put a spin on everything to get just the reaction that you had. I think the media have been regressing in the ethics dept. for a while and in today's doubtful world it's rather easy to incite a riot.

Don't worry bout it and take the media with a grain of salt.

 

Science has told us for a long time now that we are just a cosmic mistake of jumbled elements, crawled from some warm pool billions of years ago.
Politics tells us human life is sacred and is to be preserved at all costs.
Religion says a Greater Force cares about all of this and is involved at an intimate level.
