Btw.....I got 111 points last week. How did everyone else do?

Motegi should be a good race. Let's hope the weather cooperates.

reg, the mad genius of moto!

I hope to heck Hayden shows himself to be healthy. Of course, if he is healthy, so should Pedrosa be.

I really like the MotoGp series and while Rossi and Edwards are my personal favorites I gotta cheer Nicky on also. Not just because he is a fellow American, but because of the respect I have for his abilities and for the person he has shown himself to be (not saying he is perfect, but he has dealt with his share of BS and politics and still remains a respectful person who does not blame things on others). Also, Nicky has shown that he is a hard worker and I hope he sees some success for his efforts (yeah it is his job and he gets paid to do it and he does it professionally). It is gonna be interesting to see how things go at Motegi as this is not a track that ROssi rides as well as others. Also, since Stoner had such a great first race and left everyone in the dust (beat Rossi by a little over 7 seconds) will other riders feel intimated to ride a little too hard and wipe out? Also gotta kind of wonder about the Ducati bike - wtf is it the V4 (what happened to my VFR V4 - lmao) engine or just that Stoner was made to ride a Ducati? If Stoner can keep winning by such a large margin it does not look very competitive. Will MotoGp make more rule changes to make it competitive?

I think it's a combination of rider and the bike. Stoner is obviously a good fit for the Ducati. Rossi always says that a MotoGP champion is 80/20.....80% rider, 20% bike. I'm not sure it's that high but it definitely takes the right rider on the right bike to be a champion. Both the rider and bike have to complement each other and are BOTH able to change to squeeze out every last bit of performance.

They should have a race at the end of the year where the riders ride someone else's bike. That would really be interesting. Because one great bike with another rider, just might be a piece of crap. And vice versa.

I am loving how this whole thing is shaping up two races in, SilverSurfer has cursed Nicky with all of his preseason rants and after all the fun and games, look who ends up on the box in Motegi......hahahahahaha! 17 points up now.....at this rate, I'm feeling pretty stout with my choice

Only managed 104 points in team manager though, colin and nicky were a disaster.....

Shocked? Dani was on the box 11 times out of 17 races last year and also claimed 2 pole positions. Seeing Nicky on the box....now that would be a shocker.

Hayden's DNF was attributed to the one of the track locals:

    Takahashi

as for the Race Report, here was my weekend at Motegi....

Friday: wake up early, pack the Van, haul ass 130 miles in 3.5 hours, including Tokyo traffic. arrive around 1230 and setup camp at Hello Woods campground at the track. once tents are pitched, haul ass to track. check in at VIP Terrace and receive Program and VIP Pin. Eat Lunch and cruise (minimal) vendors. enjoy Practice sessions smells and sounds. go back to camp. BBQ steak, prep for rain. Me: go to bed at 2100. Others: drink crown(85%) and Coke(15%), fall on face(literally) 3 times while hanging out with Japanese campers.

Saturday: Me- Wake up (Damp) and make breakfast. Others- Wake up, smell bacon and eggs, PUKE behind tents, go back to bead whimpering. Me- head up to the track. notice that it is only drizzling. at the track enjoy some wet practice sessions. after 250 Qualifying, RAIN pours. Dorna Cancels qualifying and reverts to Fridays practice session for grid positions since friday was dry, and Sunday is supposed to be too:crazy: go back to camp to enjoy damp conditions and eat more BBQ. All: go to bed at 2200, still raining.

Sunday: All- Wake up and enjoy the fact it stopped raining. get to track and watch practices. starts to drizzle again during 250 practice. 20 minutes before GP practice it POURS:mad:. Most riders wait till last ten minutes of practice to go out and give the bike one last shake down. 10-20 minutes after GP practice it stops raining and sun comes out. Steam starts rising from the track, dry spots start to appear. 125 and 250 races are a treat. some riders wreck because there are still a few wet spots, mostly around the tunnels. between races drool over Tissot T-race Nicky Hayden Limited Edition Watch with autographed helmet case by Nicky at the Races. Decide to pass on 1K plus price tag. Eat Bento box lunch, pass on whole raw squid, devour broiled salmon. watch the start. watch rerun of Nicky being speared by Takahashi. watch Jorge Lorenzo pass Rossi and open a gap. watch the Troll (AKA Pedrosa) try to pass Rossi a couple times, fail, then finally succeed, then have Rossi say No, and Rossi opens a Gap. Watch Stoner pick off fourth. Head to car and fight with traffic, haul through Tokyo, arrive home around 2100.

Total expenditure: VIP Pass $350, rental $230, camp site $30, souvenirs $70, food $120, Tolls: first born(IOU), Gas $30.

Not a bad weekend, I was happy to see a dry race. If you ever get a chance to visit Motegi, do so.

Hari Kari you say? How about went to a team that will at least pretend to like him. Repsol is the Sponsor, and Honda pleases the Sponsor so they take care of the guy the sponsor likes. Repsol=spain, Pedrosa=spain. Repsol could care less about Nicky, and it showed. Nicky went where he was wanted. I just wish Honda had the Back Bone to take care of the rider that they need to win, not the one that makes the sponsor happy- and can't compete with Rossi or Stoner
