Hey Viffer Riders, it's about time to come out of hibernation. It's been a long cold winter and the road is calling! I just reskinned my Y2K with some Pilot 2's and need to get them warmed up. Anybody out there? Let's schedule a ride!
Saturday is looking pretty good if you aren't going to the MSTA event in Mena.

I went out for 450 miles yesterday. I am rolling into a night schedule on the 12th for a few days, if anyone has some time then I will be available. I am planning on hitting the HSTA on Friday the 17th, it will be an out and back from Bentonville.

Hey lear31! 450? WOW! That is making some laps. I was glad just to ride to work and back! Freakin' Groundhog and his predictions. I don't ride at breakneck speed yet, but would love to do a ride Sat. if you are around.

Come on out, I think you'll find the riding here very agreeable.
I've been out to North Carolina/Smokies several times, and the riding here is on a par with anything out there. Actually, we have much less traffic than the highways in the smokies. Let us know when you head this way and perhaps we can ride a little together.

I may be riding down to the Tampa area in early Aug for my aunt-in-laws wedding. Perhaps you could give me some route suggestions?

    Regards,
    H.C.D.

We lucked out here. Some bad stuff passed just north of us and just south of us. Just a good rain and a little lightning is all.

Here's a little glimpse of what you can expect out of the riding here in Arkansas...and the video does not do it justice...LOTS of roads like this here.

Hey Lear. I'll be working Friday....sorry. Man, this weather sux!!!!!!!! I did manage to get out Saturday and changed the oil/filter on the bike. I'm curious if I'll notice a difference in shifting since I switched over to Amsoil.
Well, hopefully the monsoon rain season will end here soon and we can enjoy some consistent sunny weather.
Take care buddy, and be safe. I haven't forgot you....we still need to make that picture in front of the Huey happen.

    Morning Lear,
I'm also working Friday. IF we can just get some consistent WEATHER, consistently warm, that is. Have a good ride.
We're trying to put together at least a ride to Eureka soon.
Just FYI, a great practice road, super curvy, goes from Monte Ne to Horseshoe Bend. Just keep an eye out for gravel wash after a big rain (like yesterday).

    Ride on!

Lear 31a, TravelingViffer, and myself had a great ride last friday. We hooked up in Lamar, and got in a lot of very good riding. The weather was good until late in the day as well.

All of us folks here in this part of the country need to get together this summer for a long weekend. Maybe we can even convince some folks from further away to come on out, too.

    Here's a link to a photo.

H.C.D. and TravelingViffer, thanks for showing me some new territory, it was a blast. I am looking forward to our next ride. We need to get FlynLo and Jammer on board.

Looks like this week is going to be a little bit rainy and stormy, but we need to get out and ride soon. Final exams are coming up and after that I've decided to avoid summer school for the first time in 2 years so that I can actually take a vacation!

I'm trying to round up 2,3,4 other riders to go on a week-long trip out west and back. Any interest from this crowd?

If my current employer would hurry up and lay me off, I might be up for a trip out west. Right now, I'm planning on riding down to Tampa Bay and back this summer so I can attend my aunt-in-law's wedding. Another good friend who was also invited to the wedding is riding down with me. Keep me informed about when you may leave for the trip out west.

Rode with a good friend of mine yesterday who just got a new V-Strom 1000 about 3 weeks ago. First, he got a bee in his shirt and had to make an emergency stop to strip off his shirt to get rid of the bee. Then, I got a bee inside my helmet just south of Jasper. Stung the sht out of me a couple of times before I prized it out with a finger. And then, if that wasn't enough, shortly after my bee encounter, my buddy was leading and he got into a corner too hot, hit his front brake too hard, missed the corner on the high side and hit the ground hard when he ran off into the ditch. Put a big gouge in his helmet, banged his r. shoulder up, and scratched him up in lots of places. He was wearing a t-shirt and jeans and therefore paid the price with his hide. No broken bones, though. Bike lost a turn signal, a bar end, a hand guard, a rear brake pedal, and lots of scratches on the right side. Nothing major. After we picked all the gravel out of him and washed him off a little, he got back on it and rode home so his wife could take him to the hospital to make sure nothing was broken, etc.

Other than all that, we had a great day.......

    Regards,
    H.C.D.

Hola Amigos! Richard, sorry to hear about your bud and his misfortunes, glad he is going to be okay, get that boy some gear! J.D. I am itching to do a trip, however baseball and softball season is in full swing and I can't be gone a whole week. I would love to go to Deal's Gap (bucket list thing) and I am currently attempting to set things up so I can hit the Indy GP this year.
