Wow, no kidding? I am in Chanute Paul. Only a few hours from ya! If you still interested in getting a bike, I am going to be putting mine up for sale soon. Same year.

Very cool man. I really hate to sell mine but, you do what you have to. Only thing I really dislike are the white rims a total pain in the butt to keep clean.

Yeah, I'm still interested in getting a VFR. I've been wanting to get something that was sport-touring rather than all sport, and the following here suggests to me it's a pretty good bike.

I guess when I first contacted the guy I should have made it clearer I was a serious buyer, not just looking. I haven't got a lot of money to spend on a bike, and that one was priced about right for me. Maybe next time :)

I hear ya. I do like em, just hate to clean em.

I know what your saying Paul. Mine actually fell in my lap, my brother bought it and it was too big for him so I got it from him. It's a great bike, I just don't have the money to pay for it and my VTX right now.

I gave 2200 for my 92. It had 36k on it when I bought it last June. It's at 41k now. Not counting time off for winter. It's not perfect, it fell over on me and dinged up the right side fairing. Some Plaztex and paint and it will be good enough for me. My back tire is wasted right now, and I wasn't going to pay 195 to the local dealer for a rear tire! BUms me out, it's finally in the 70's here, and i'm sitting.

1700 bucks. You should have jumped on it.

I've been shopping Third Gen's as well. I've always wanted one. I recently sold a mint F4i and then built an XR650R motard. Now I'm finally ready to make a move on fulfilling my VFR dream. My wife liked riding with me but HATED the pillion on the F4i. Mine was an '02 with the split seat. I promised her that I'd find her something that was more comfortable. The motard is definitely not doing it for her either (but I'm keeping it).

I drove 5 hours each way yesterday to go look at one that the guy said was in "excellent" condition. He said it had never been down, good tires, super clean, blah, blah. I got there and from 10 feet away I could see that it had been down at least twice, once on each side. There wasn't a freaking drop of coolant in the reservoir, I had to show him where the filler was. It was leaking oil at both valve cover gaskets, the tires were 100% done. On the tail section was a crack that someone had used a glue gun with hot glue to try to repair it from behind. Prior to him someone had drilled holes all over the undertail and put red LED's in it with a switch for some really ghetto running lights.

The crappy part is that I still find myself wanting it because it has the unobtainium left exit exhaust in excellent condition and it is the Red with White rims color from '90 that I've always wanted. I just refuse to pay the amount he wants. He is totally clueless, in every way. He's never once had the plastics off of the bike. It's the second SEVERE disappointment I've had when going to look at a VFR now.

Kator: I'm the one that contacted you about yours a couple days ago from your add. Now my count is two let-downs not just one like I talked about in the email. The trouble is you're even a little farther away than the one I went to see yesterday and that was 10 hours of driving.

Yep, it gives the bike a completely different look and bumps it up a level. I just can't get myself to overpay for a crappy bike with a sweet exhaust.

ToeCutter, do have any more pics of you're '07 posted up somewhere? I've only seen one other 25th Ann. bike with white wheels. My wife and I agree that it COMPLETELY transforms the bike compared to the black wheels.
